Every once in a while, gamers get a rare chance to interact with amazing titles that combine multiple elements and genres into a magnificent gaming experience. Horror fans, especially those who have played the game Alisa before, will marvel at the delicate nature of its upcoming sequel, The Parting. The game is a horror action-adventure title that takes players through a series of unexpected, scary events in a world rich in retro aesthetics. In the article below, we dive deeper into this title, highlighting everything we know about it so far.

What is Alisa: The Parting?

Alisa: The Parting — Everything We Know

The title is an upcoming survival horror game packed with thrilling action and adventure. The game is set during the same event as its prequel and mimics the same look and play as a late 90s or early 2000s 32-bit game. However, it features a new protagonist. Unforeseen events engulf Alisa, and she descends into the madness of the Dollhouse. The mystery leaves her partner, Jean-François, in a daze with many questions to answer.

Story

Story

The title is the sequel to the famous horror game Alisa. Here, players take on the role of an Elite Royal Agent. She comes from a country that portrays a Fantasy Counterpart Culture version of late 19th-century and early 20th-century France. It begins in the countryside, where the protagonist pursues a criminal who has stolen a set of blueprints. However, strange creatures disrupt her mission when they kidnap her.

She wakes up to find herself in a strange manor dressed in a blue dress. Additionally, she has no memory of how she got to the creepy house. Aside from that, the place is crawling with hordes of life-sized mechanical dolls who attack her on sight. Naturally, Alisa has to find a way to escape the Dollhouse and learn the truth of how she ended up there in the first place. She also needs to return to her original quest and secure the blueprints.

Consequently, the new game follows the story of Alisa and her partner, Jean, as they pursue a wanted criminal who has stolen a set of mysterious blueprints. The two relentlessly search the countryside, hoping to find their quarry. Unfortunately, their quest takes a dark turn when Alisa finds herself drawn into a Dollhouse creeping with madness: so many questions and a mystery to unravel confront her partner.

As you play, you will cross paths with all manner of characters, both good and evil, who will impact your course in different ways. More often than not, the match will require you to help out your new friends while simultaneously trying to survive dangerous situations. You will uncover the truth behind the stolen blueprints.

Gameplay

Gameplay

Alisa: The Parting features complex gameplay. Players will course through a land connected by a central hub in a single-player campaign with an AI partner or local co-op. On your way, you will fight off many enemies, discover delicious secrets, and help out new characters. The game also offers a variety of weapons that enable you to survive the gameplay. It has a high difficulty standard with surprises and threats lurking in every corner. However, the silly humor contained in it makes the scares more tolerable.

You can also take breaks in between adventures to play mini-games and complete additional, more minor quests. Aside from that, you will have access to multiple pieces of unlockable content. They include weapons and cosmetic outfits that allow you to tailor your experience. It offers genuine replayability and promises a bone-chilling experience that will have you shaking in your boots way after you’ve completed your gameplay.

The game’s official announcement trailer reveals crispy pixel polygons, pre-rendered backgrounds, and cinematics, precisely like a late ‘90s and early 2000s 32-bit game. In it, the protagonist and her partner are going after a criminal who has stolen mysterious blueprints. However, their mission takes on a completely different route when the protagonist ends up trapped in a Dollhouse filled with horrors beyond what you can imagine. Her partner ends up in a tough spot, facing multiple questions and a mystery to worry about.

On her journey, the main character encounters a diverse range of characters with distinct personalities. Some good, some evil. All in all, her new mission becomes finding a way out of the dark and scary situation she now finds herself in. The game’s retro aesthetics accentuate the action and adventure aspects. It creates a nostalgic look and feel that will have you hooked to the screen for hours.

Additionally, you will experience the amazing nature only a good classical horror can offer, with a strong emphasis on replayability.
