Until Dawn 2024

Any of the eight characters in Until Dawn 2024 can live or die, depending on the decisions you make throughout the game. Every decision, regardless of how insignificant, can contribute to a player’s likelihood of living or dying. The objective is to end the game with as many survivors as possible. You may need several playthroughs to master the game, and the best strategy involves mastering an individual character in each run. Emily is one of the most vulnerable characters in Until Dawn 2024, with at least five instances where she can die. However, while keeping her alive is difficult, it is not impossible. Here is an exhaustive guide on everything you need to do to keep Emily alive in Until Dawn 2024

How to Save Emily in Chapter Eight

Save Emily in Chapter Eight

Emily gets through the early and middle chapters mostly safely, save for a scare or an injury. However, she is most vulnerable in Chapter Eight due to her encounter with a Wendigo, a mythical evil creature that devours its victims.

She falls into an open mine as she tries to get away from the human stranger and Wendigo pursuing her. Interestingly, the stranger, who she mistakenly believes to be the killer, has been trying to help her all along. However, you must help yourself by running away from the Wendigo, which pursues her deep into the mines.

Emily manages to maintain some distance between herself and the Wendigo, eventually coming to two paths. You must decide whether to go left or right. However, the most suitable decision at this stage should be going left if you want to live. The left path leads to an elevator that takes you above the surface, taking you out of the Wendigo’s reach. You must be quick to pull the elevator’s lever and board. The Wendigo will catch up with you and gouge your eyes out if you hesitate.

Notably, you may have to hold still for a short while when the elevator comes to a stop. Holding still is necessary if you chose the right path or didn’t initially complete all QTEs. However, it is not necessary if you completed all QTEs and chose the left path first. Additionally, you must use the objects around you to slow the Wendigo down, or else it will reach and kill you.

Notably, you must complete all QTEs when you get out of the elevator to ensure that Emily survives. Missing even one QTE means that Emily dies instantly.

Em isn’t out of danger yet, as the Wendigo is still in pursuit. Fortunately, the game offers a conveyor belt at this point, which she climbs to get away from the Wendigo. You have the choice to stay on the conveyor belt or leap off. Unbeknownst to you, the conveyor belt will drop you into an industrial rock grinder at some point, resulting in a painful, horrific death. As such, you must choose to jump off the belt to get to safety.

However, Emily still isn’t safe, although her chances of dying are much lower now. The Wendigo is still in pursuit and will bite her if she doesn’t defend herself. She can use a flare gun to scare the Wendigo off if she has one. Unfortunately, she is unlikely to have the gun if she didn’t find it in Chapter Six, or if she found it and used it or gave it to Matt. Fortunately, if bitten, the bite doesn’t kill her. She eventually gets to safety by ziplining or falling down the ridge toward the lodge.

Once she gets to her friends location, she is safe. However, there’s the likelihood that she was bitten by the Wendigo before ziplining to safety. As mentioned earlier, the bite isn’t harmful; its only harmful if you eat the Wendigo’s meat. However, no one knows that yet. Therefore, Emily might be in danger of death at the hands of her friends, who fear she would turn and kill them through the infection. She hurdles together with her friends when she reaches the lounge. This creates an opportunity for Ashley to notice her Wendigo bite. If she does, she becomes concerned that it could be contagious, based on what the stranger told the group about Wendigos.

Ashley’s realization tips off the crew. Mike is the most affected member and, engorged by fear, threatens Em. He asks Emily to leave the group. Failure to do so, Mike threatens to shoot her. Naturally, Emily refuses to leave the group, leaving you the choice to shoot her or spare her life. Ideally, you should spare her life, as the Wendigo bite is harmless.

Saving Emily in Until Dawn 2024, Chapter Ten

Until Dawn 2024

Notably, you don’t control Emily in Chapter Ten. Instead, you control Matt, Sam, Josh, and Jessica, and their decisions determine whether Emily lives or dies.

The cabin is under attack by multiple Wendigos. The group plans to blow up the cabin with the Wendigos inside. As such, Emily risks dying if she doesn’t leave the cabin fast enough or if the other playable characters make the wrong decisions.

Interestingly, Emily could be the first or second one to leave the cabin, depending on her relationship with Ashley. She will push past Ashley if she revealed her Wendigo bite secret in Chapter Eight, becoming the first to leave. If not, she will let Ashley leave first. She also leaves first if Chris and Ashley are dead. Being the first to leave guarantees Emily’s survival, as the first one to leave the cabin always survives. In contrast, Wendigos will catch Emily and gouge her eyes out if she is too late to leave.

However, Emily could also die in the cabin from the explosion. Her survival depends on Sam’s decision. Sam will be under pressure to set off the explosion as more Wendigos enter the cabin. He can trigger the explosion too early or wait until everyone leaves the cabin. As such, you must choose to wait until Emily leaves before running to the switch. If everything works out, Emily will join the other survivors and watch the cabin burn as the sun rises and a rescue helicopter approaches.
