What Is the Blood of Dawnwalker?

The game is a single-player game that takes players to a rich fantasy world, blending thrilling action with immersive adventure. From start to finish, every moment is packed with intense tension, keeping players constantly on edge. Moreover, Rebel Wolves, in partnership with Bandai Namco Entertainment, delivers an experience that fans can confidently expect to be nothing short of epic. Ultimately, it’s a journey full of danger, mystery, and heart-pounding moments that are genuinely thrilling to experience.
Story

The plot is precisely crafted to evoke a strong sense of mystery and escalating tension as the story unfolds. Even while the game immerses players in a world full of unidentified threats, its core gameplay remains driven mainly by furious action. To maintain players’ complete immersion and constant engagement, the story and combat are intricately intertwined.
The protagonist, Coen, has the curse of a vampire. He must attempt to save his family within a 30-day timeline. An ancient and powerful vampire named Brecis has taken control of the kingdom. Under his rule, the kingdom has fallen into darkness, with vampires imposing a blood tax on humans. Unrest among the humans the vampire lords have enslaved is a result of their harsh rule. Players are kept engaged throughout the entire game by striking a balance between exciting combat and an unfolding enigmatic plot.
Gameplay

In this game, players take the role of Coen. At night, he scales walls and glides across rooftops like a predatory shadow, directing that supernatural agility as the sun sets. During the day, players wield their swords with brutal precision, fueled by raw, ritual-based sorcery tied to occult characters and magic. Notably, these supernatural skills manifest even in the light.
However, during the night, you unleash shadow magic, gripping fury, and enhanced strength powers that awaken only under the light of the moon. Whether you’re tearing through enemies or ripping hearts from their chests, your vampiric abilities explode in bursts of uncontrolled violence.
Since the journey spans 30 days, every quest you undertake pushes the clock forward, requiring players to plan each move carefully. As a result, you must adapt your form strategically, relying on daylight cunning and sorcery when needed and fully embracing your vampiric night under moonlight to turn the tide in challenging battles.
Furthermore, feeding becomes essential to maintaining both your health and your control over vampirism. Fail to feed, and you grow weaker, leaving yourself vulnerable and far more likely to fall. Specifically, you can choose to side with vampire factions, form alliances with humans, or walk your path. Moreover, your evolving form and time-pressured decisions shape not only combat but also politics, relationships, and multiple endings.
Development

Currently in development by the independent game studio Rebel Wolves, The Blood of Dawnwalker uses Unreal Engine and will be published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The studio envisions this ambitious title as the first installment in a larger series, setting the foundation for a rich and expansive universe that they will explore in future games. With its dark fantasy themes and story-driven gameplay, the game aims to establish a strong identity. The game keeps players on edge from the very beginning, setting the stage for what promises to be a long-running saga.
Trailer
Previously, the first two trailers offered an early glimpse of what players can expect from the gameplay. Recently, the developers have shared a more detailed trailer. This time, the trailer opens with dramatic shots of a ruined Gothic world featuring twisted castles and a blood-red sky while peasants flee in terror. Soon after, a voice whispers, “The sun rises, but I remain… something else.” From the shadows, Coen emerges as the protagonist, a once-noble man now cursed to walk the line between humanity and vampirism. His eyes glow faintly—a sword in one hand.
The trailer shifts rapidly between the two halves of the Coen brothers’ personalities. In the sun’s light, he’s vulnerable, forced to use alliances and secrecy to survive. But as night falls, he becomes something different. Brutal, powerful, and driven by a growing thirst. We see him scaling castle walls, unleashing supernatural strikes, and silently destroying enemies. “He is the Dawnwalker,” a threatening narrator vocalizes. “Bound to a curse. Driven by love. Running out of time.”
The scene cuts to visions of his wife and child imprisoned by the oppressive vampire lord, Brencis. A land under siege and a family held hostage. The camera sweeps across a devastated countryside as vampires turn villagers, round them up, and feed on them ruthlessly. The in-game clock ticks loudly, reminding players that they have only 30 days.
It’s an RPG built on shadows and sacrifice. Built in Unreal Engine 5, the trailer’s final moments deliver a flow of the visual presentation. The unnatural spells ripple through rotting towns, the flaming swords clash against clawed beasts, and moral choices fracture the storyline.
