Super Mario Bros. Wonder was first announced in a Nintendo Direct event on June 21, confirming the rumors and leaks about the game's existence. Nintendo has not revealed many details about the game.
However, we hope to get more details during this week's Direct. Super Mario Bros. Wonder comes as a breath of fresh air, being the first entirely original 2D Mario game since 2012's New Super Mario Bros. U.
The latter was later adapted for the Switch in 2019 as New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder is poised to offer players an enthralling 2D side-scrolling escapade on the Nintendo Switch.
The game's lineup includes beloved characters like Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Yoshi, Mario, Luigi, and Toad, each sporting their own distinctive abilities.
In Super Mario Bros. Wonder, players will witness the introduction of Mario's latest form. Mario will have the ability to transform into Elephant Mario. Central to its innovative gameplay is the introduction of the Wonder Flower, a feature that uniquely changes each stage.
In addition, local cooperative play for up to four players is also a feature. According to Nintendo, the developers will reveal details about online play later.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder will launch on October 20 for the Nintendo Switch, and preorders are already available for physical and digital game editions. Notably, the launch date of Wonder coincides with the release of Spider-Man 2.
