RoadCraft: Everything We Know
After MudRunner, you can jump into RoadCraft. The two games are more or less the same. You still venture out into a destroyed world, rebuilding your home from rags to riches. With several vehicles at your disposal, you’ll brave muddy trenches and rocky terrain. You’ll put up new asphalt roads, rebuild damaged bridges, and slowly but surely restore your home to its former glory. Here’s everything we know about RoadCraft so far.
What is RoadCraft?

RoadCraft is an upcoming off-road simulation game. It follows in the footsteps of MudRunner to bring you a new adventure to rebuild your home. A disaster has struck suddenly, leaving the world in chaos and destruction. Fortunately, you’re a leader in a reconstruction company specializing in rebuilding after natural disasters. So, you set out to maximize the resources at your construction company, from efficient machinery to multiple vehicles. You’ll haul away debris and repair broken equipment. You’ll rebuild asphalt roads and damaged bridges, all in a bid to restore your home to what it once was.
Story

You’ll control the leader of a construction company. The company reconstructs places that have been struck by a natural disaster. So, when a tragic event strikes the world, you become the perfect man for the job of rebuilding anew. You’ll work toward restoring the local industry, whether by repairing broken machinery or clearing debris. Day by day, you’ll rebuild towns, putting up new roads, bridges, and much more.
Go Global
The natural disaster has struck not only your home but also the world as a whole. Yet you’re the last remaining hope of restoring the world to its former self. You’ll brave through extreme conditions, carving new roads through affected areas. Your reconstruction job will take you from steep mountains to arid deserts and sandy beaches. The game will craft eight unique maps, each having 4 km² of ground to cover. With such immense variety in biomes and buildings, your playthrough will remain consistently fresh. Just the same, your itinerary will be packed full of abandoned factories to revive, broken dams to repair, and solar fields to rebuild. As you unlock new contracts, you’ll delve farther into the world, earning in-game currency and XP with more goals to accomplish.
Recycle
You’ll scavenge the world for useful supplies, whether cement, steel, wood, and more. Recycling will take center stage as you make use of the resources in the environment to reconstruct. You can also automate production, constantly feeding production chains with supply. Thereafter, you’ll set up transport routes to deliver construction materials from factories to sites, ensuring the roads have no obstacles on the way.
Gameplay

Thanks to Steam, we know the key features you can expect in the final game.
Key Features
- Collect resources: You’ll manage a disaster recovery company, taking on several tasks that will restore a town struck by a natural disaster. Your tasks will need you to deploy fresh resources in areas of need while setting up production chains to automate the constant supply of construction materials.
- Garage: Get ready to experiment with several types of vehicles suited for the hazardous terrain of a town ravaged by a natural disaster. Each machine will serve a specific function, from bulldozers to clear debris to heavy transporter machines to carry other vehicles. You’ll engage with cranes to lift heavy equipment and objects. Meanwhile, you’ll repair your factory, reconnecting production to the power grid. Most roads will be asphalt, requiring your paver and roller to get the job done. RoadCraft promises over 40 vehicles, which you’ll unlock as you progress through a story-based campaign. At any time, you’ll explore your garage, customizing your automobiles with logos and paint.
- Realism: MudRunner and SnowRunner were developed for current-gen consoles. RoadCraft, on the other hand, will make use of next-gen technology to usher in better simulation. Further, Saber Interactive will be using a brand-new engine for development. As a result, you can look forward to realistic physics that takes into account the weight and size of vehicles. You’ll interact with natural elements, including asphalt, sand, and trees, while reshaping the world around you. Your goal will be to rebuild roads for reconstruction, paving the way for your vehicles to access deeper regions of the town.
- Multiplayer: If the playthrough feels overwhelming, you can bring friends along for the ride. The game will allow up to four players per session. That way, you can collaborate on the tasks at hand, utilizing each player’s unique thought process and solving the problems that come up during play.
Development

Saber Interactive is currently developing RoadCraft in collaboration with Focus Entertainment. Both Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment are prominent studios in the gaming industry. They have a ton of successful titles under their belt. So, the upcoming game is doubtlessly in capable hands.
Trailer
RoadCraft’s reveal trailer is out now on YouTube. It’s pretty exhaustive, including the story and gameplay you can expect in the final game. If you’ve played MudRunner or SnowRunner, you should have a pretty good idea of the game. Though, of course, the visuals look a lot better. Constructing the asphalt roads looks realistic enough. It seems to involve a lot more strategy, such as adding the flattening of roads, among other cool stuff.
