What starts as a seemingly ordinary set of daily errands quickly spirals into absolute mayhem, depending on how the player chooses to approach the game’s open-ended structure.

The VR remaster brings the game’s open-ended, sandbox gameplay to a fully immersive format. While staying true to the original’s core elements, POSTAL 2 VR introduces modern features tailored for VR immersion. 

Story

Since the game is a VR adaptation of the original game, you can expect a familiar story and characters. The Postal Dude is back to complete routine daily tasks. He might buy milk, return an overdue library book, or get Gary Coleman’s autograph. Remember, this is Paradise, Arizona, where even the most typical tasks can become chaotic. Sometimes, you will experience bizarre and dangerous tasks. You might find yourself dealing with protesters, confronting deranged butchers, or navigating a chaotic shopping mall. The tasks entirely depend on the player’s approach. It is possible to go about your day peacefully and avoid confrontation, or you can unleash chaos on the town’s unsuspecting residents. The story unfolds over five days, Monday through Friday, presenting new objectives each day. 

While the story remains the same, VR enhances the storytelling experience by fully immersing players in the world of Postal Dude, offering a firsthand perspective of the madness unfolding in Paradise, Arizona. Instead of simply controlling the character from a screen, players step directly into his shoes, making every interaction, decision, and chaotic encounter feel more visceral and personal.

Development

Running With Scissors, the developer of POSTAL 2, is collaborating with Flat2VR Studios and Team Beef to develop POSTAL 2 VR. The team combines expertise in the POSTAL franchise,  VR development, and modding. The combination is enough to assure fans of an experience that stays true to the original while embracing the possibilities of virtual reality. The developers have confirmed that the title is not a simple port but a complete rebuild designed specifically for VR platforms.

Release Dates and Platforms

Unfortunately, POSTAL 2 VR does not have an official release date. However, Running With Scissors has confirmed that the game will be available on multiple VR platforms. The confirmed platforms so far include PS VR2, SteamVR, and Quest 2 and 3. Players can add the game to their Steam Wishlist while awaiting further updates.
