NETK2GAMES’ Salvador Casamiquela on Rally Arcade Classics: Precision & Chase – Interview Series

NETK2GAMES’ Rally Arcade Classics, a souped-up love letter to beloved rallying games from the eighties, nineties and early noughties era, is gearing up to launch Precision & Chase, a brand-new update that will reportedly bring fresh online functionality and advanced quality of life improvements to the table.
In an effort to learn more about the team’s plans to broaden the scope for Rally Arcade Classics, we decided to sit down with Salvador Casamiquela, Game Director at NETK2GAMES.
Firstly, a huge congratulations on the recent release of Rally Arcade Classics — we’re excited to sit down with you to talk more about it and the upcoming Precisions & Chase update. Before we sink our teeth into that, though, would you mind introducing us to the game and telling us a bit about it?
Salvador: Thank you! Rally Arcade Classics is our love letter to the golden era of arcade rallying. We wanted to capture the thrill of classic rally titles — the fast-paced driving, the split-second reactions, the time attack spirit — and bring them into a modern package with crisp visuals, updated physics, and a global community focus. The game combines short, intense rally stages with a nostalgic presentation that fans of the genre will instantly recognize, while still being accessible to newcomers.
What inspired you to step back in time to rekindle the flames of arcade rallying, if you don’t mind me asking? Would you mind walking us through that story?
Salvador: The inspiration came from our childhood memories in the arcade and at home, playing games like Sega Rally or Colin McRae Rally. Those games weren’t just about racing — they were about atmosphere, challenge, and that “one more try” feeling. Over the years, we noticed that this style of rally experience was fading away. So we thought: why not bring it back, but with modern tools and ideas? That’s how Rally Arcade Classics was born — as a bridge between nostalgia and innovation.
Precision & Chase is gearing up to launch on September 9 across all major platforms. Tell us, what can we expect to find in the forthcoming global update?
Salvador: Precision & Chase is a very important milestone for us. It introduces two key features:
Precision Mode: from almost the very beginning, many players asked us to add manual gear shifting. We’ve done it, designed especially for those who are looking for a more technical and skill-based challenge.
Chase Mode: you can create a custom list with up to 25 drivers to directly compare your times against theirs. You can challenge your friends or even strangers — as long as they appear on the current leaderboard.
What is the next step for Rally Arcade Classics? With Precision & Chase laying the groundwork for online scoreboards and revamped gameplay mechanics, could it be that a full-fledged multiplayer mode is on the horizon?
Salvador: Absolutely. Multiplayer is something we’ve been planning from the very beginning. The leaderboards are just the first step — the foundation for community-driven competition. Our long-term roadmap includes real-time online multiplayer, tournaments, and seasonal events. We want players not only to enjoy the stages individually, but also to feel part of a living rally community — both for online competitions and split-screen play. Another pending task is the behavior of the AI: we’re working to make it more interactive and to better simulate the real behavior of a driver.
Do you have any valuable tips for those who are either unfamiliar with rallying games or have yet to take to the reins in Rally Arcade Classics?
Salvador: Definitely! A few tips:
- Listen to your co-driver — even though stages are short, anticipating corners is the key to shaving seconds off your time.
- Don’t oversteer — it’s tempting to slide everywhere, but controlled drifts are faster than wild ones.
- Use retries as practice — each stage is designed to be replayed, so think of every run as training for the perfect lap.
The game is accessible, but mastering it takes precision — and that’s exactly the thrill we wanted to capture.
You’ve piqued millions of fans’ interest with a nostalgic hub for arcade rallying. We’re curious — are there talks of a sequel, or perhaps another generation of racing that could potentially bring us back to the wheel?
Salvador: Right now, our full focus is on expanding Rally Arcade Classics with updates like Precision & Chase. That said, we definitely see this project as the beginning of something bigger. Whether that evolves into a sequel, new racing sub-genres, or spin-offs with different rally eras — we’re keeping our options open. The important thing is that we want to keep the arcade racing spirit alive.
Would you mind telling us where we can find even more updates on Rally Arcade Classics? Are there any useful social handles, newsletters, or important roadmap details that you wouldn’t mind sharing with our readers?

You’ve been brilliant — thank you. Before we head out, is there anything else you would like to add to this story?
Salvador: We just want to thank the community for supporting indie studios like ours. Seeing players from all over the world enjoying Rally Arcade Classics motivates us to keep improving and expanding the game. The community’s feedback helps us tremendously to make the game better, and we take it very seriously — and of course… the best is yet to come.
