2025 is coming in hot with some of the most exciting games currently in the works. GTA VI, of course, has officially been promised to arrive in Fall 2025. But also, more thrilling games draw heavy anticipation from gamers worldwide, like Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, Doom: The Dark Ages, Avowed, Death Stranding 2, and much more. Throughout the coming year, developers from Triple-A to indie studios will be delivering long-awaited hot titles, some of which we’ve been patiently waiting for years now. While there are a ton of upcoming games to look forward to, here are the most anticipated video games of 2025 you don’t want to miss out on.
10. Borderlands 4
The Borderlands have been ripe with lots of ways to loot and shoot with friends. It’s been such a great rollercoaster to have hopped on, so much so that we’ll be getting Borderlands 4 in 2025. This time, you’ll be a vault hunter who, as the name suggests, specializes in finding treasure. There’s alien treasure stashed away somewhere in the game’s universe, and you have to basically blast your way through everything that moves to reach it.

9. DOOM: The Dark Ages
The DOOM series is also no stranger in gaming, popular for placing you in the doom slayer’s role and wiping out hordes of demons from reaching the surface world. In DOOM: The Dark Ages, you’ll take on the same role, fighting in a medieval-like war against the demons sprouting from hell. Despite their overwhelming numbers, you’ll have sweet super weapons on your side. Also, the upcoming game will give fans of the series a special bonus, where you discover the origin story of the demon slayer’s abounding rage.

8. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Another continuation of a highly successful series is Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Bounty hunter Samus Aran returns, this time on a new mission. Unfortunately, the game will be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. Also, we don’t quite have a ton of details on what you can expect in the final game. We do have a trailer that pulls the curtain back, ever so slightly, on gameplay that looks similar to previous titles. You’ll steer Samus’ famous ship as you explore an immersive world, finesse your morph ball skill, scan space pirates, and go head-to-head with your bounty hunter rival, Sylux.

7. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
If you ever wondered what the origin story for Naked Snake and his mentor, The Boss, was, you’ll soon find out in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, that’s if you haven’t already in the original 2004 title. As the fifth entry in the series, you can look forward to proficiency in the gameplay and mechanics. Most of all, the story looks to be quite an invigorating one. Of course, the usual stealth mechanics will return. Aspects like camouflaging through the environment using face paint and crawling through grass. Further, intense action will feature, too, from martial arts melee to ranged.

6. Fable
Good news! Fable will be coming to Xbox Game Pass from Day One. So, brace yourself as you venture into the fantasy land of Albion.
