10 Best Weapons in The Outer Worlds 2

There are quite a lot of nuances to keep in mind when fighting the humanoid and robotic monsters of The Outer Worlds 2. Unique weapons are, firstly, a surefire way to inflict devastating damage, with their distinct properties and effects. Meanwhile, you have plenty of options to choose from: a whopping 200+ weapons available to you. But not all of them are effective against enemies. Not to mention that certain weapon types fare better against specific enemy types.
Moreover, the weapons in The Outer Worlds 2 overheat, demanding you give them time to cool down. Others require intentional upgrades of their weapon skills to maximize their power fully. Still, weapons with corrosive damage whittle down heavy armor better. All of these result in some weapons being more universally powerful than others. Today, we’re expounding further on the best weapons in The Outer Worlds 2 you’ll absolutely want to test drive first.
10. Silenced Machine Pistol

Don’t sleep on pistols. They’re often lightweight, giving you more speed on your feet. And only one or two accurate shots are often enough to take down enemies. With the Silenced Machine Pistol, you’re looking at a competitive fire rate. But note that it’ll come at the expense of lower accuracy and ammo.
While a Machine Pistol is servicable, attaching the Silencer mod from Auntie’s Choice vending machine takes it to another level, especially for stealth players who’re looking to silence their shots while gaining increased sneak attack damage.
9. Repeating Rifle
The weapons you get early on in games aren’t always powerful. But occasionally, you might get lucky, like with the Repeating Rifle. Just right after the tutorial, you can get this buddy and begin inflicting 40 damage points on enemies. Better? Snagging headshots will inflict 120 damage points.
Although the Repeating Rifle only deals a single-shot burst at a time, it serves well as a sniping rifle early on. Plus, you can boost its damage and attach a magnifying scope to boot.
8. Zyraniator
Now, Zyraniator, on the other hand, will fire three-shot bursts at a time. That’s 78 damage points per shot; that’s pretty competitive for a pistol. It’s the perfect gun to whittle down heavy armor, especially since every shot deals more damage. However, it’s mostly effective against organics. Automechanics, though, won’t take damage from it, instead making them stronger.
7. Murder’s Best Friend
A blade is always man’s best friend, snagging stealth kills with ease. With Murder’s Best Friend, you gain bonus damage from every stealth kill. But it also makes your crouching movement faster. And these perks will stack up to three times to a point that your footsteps become quiet too. But you must be careful not to get spotted by enemies (or change your weapon), as the perks will disappear.
6. Rattler
Still, the Rattler is an excellent early-on choice for the best weapons in The Outer Worlds 2. That’s because of its eight-shot bursts at a time, each dealing 11 damage points. That’s a pretty staggering amount for the early stages that can take out large mechs with ease.
5. Shock Machine Gun
While polishing your A-game, don’t forget to add elemental damage to your weapons. The Shock Machine Gun, for one, is pretty overpowered, inflicting devastating damage output on enemies at a speedy fire rate. Sure, the reload takes a beat. But its large magazine and the fact that shock damage stuns enemies gives you enough time to circle back.
4. Wham-Bam!
Introducing the shotgun-hammer: still feels unreal, but it’s true. Wham-Bam! is both a sledgehammer and a shotgun. Combined, you get the most powerful, two-handed melee weapon you can ask for. At close range, slamming the hammer on enemies unleashes Shells that explode on impact. And the damage dealt is a whopping ton.
But even if you’ve run out of Shells, you can still default to using it as a normal sledgehammer. And that makes its damage points a staggering 199. But the swing rate can be slower for some players. Not to mention that you do, in fact, have to get up close and personal with enemies to land quick attacks in a short timeframe.
3. Kaur’s Korroder
Most of the best weapons in The Outer Worlds 2 are fully maximized when you lean into their strengths. And the Kaur’s Korroder defines its perk for you pretty clearly, inflicting Corrosive damage on enemies. It’s a pistol that shoots projectiles that bounce off enemies, dealing 121 damage points. Plus, you can hit more significant damage levels when you upgrade the Science skill.
The shots fired are like goo that bounces off and spreads all over enemies like an infection. And while at it, corrodes armor and inflicts damage. And with higher-ranking Science skills, your chances of spreading a more devastating infection are increased.
2. Feedback Cannon
We haven’t yet touched on defense, where the Feedback Cannon comes in. This second-ranking unique rifle of the best weapons in The Outer Worlds 2 deals a whopping 237 damage points on enemies. It gives you a 50% bonus damage for every shot that lands on enemies’ weak spots.
With your offense covered, Feedback Cannon goes further to increase your damage output for every damage that you sustain. Although the bonus drains the more you deal damage, it can be incredibly useful in getting you out of tight spots with bullet sponge enemies.
1. The Simplifier
Lastly, you want a reliable sniper rifle by your side. And The Simplifier takes the crown home. It’s perfect for players who like to keep their distance. Plus, it helps conceal your location, taking down enemies with a single, accurate shot. That shouldn’t be a problem, as the accuracy level for this sniper is near-perfect.
While aiming, you can further use a powerful high-magnification scope. Add to that the fact that the damage output is a high 114 with no falloff point, and you have a perfect must-have weapon to add to your build.
