Baldur’s Gate 3 Crowned Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2023

Baldur’s Gate 3 has officially taken the crown for the Game of the Year category at The Game Awards 2023. Does this come as much of a surprise? Well, not really, given the sheer amount of copies it went on to sell following its global debut. Needless to say, 2023 has onboarded countless IPs, six of which just so happened to wind up thrashing it out for that all-important top spot at the apex. As a reminder, the six titles that competed for Game of the Year were as follows:

Game of the Year 2023 Nominees

  • Alan Wake 2
  • Super Mario Bros. Wonder
  • The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
  • Baldur’s Gate 3
  • Resident Evil 4
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

So, what’s next for Baldur’s Gate 3? Are we likely to see a sequel sprout up over the next several years? Who knows?
