Games Every Foodie Will Love

Food is an integral part of every game. Whether you find it through loot or hidden between walls, it remains the game's central mechanic. In most cases, food nourishes the game characters by healing them and can also get you closer to attaining a high score. Devouring food is also satisfying to the player. Some games go the extra mile to make the food seem delicious and tempting. If you're a food enthusiast, here are a few games games every foodie will love.

5. Genshin Impact

If you love cooking food as much as devouring it, Genshin Impact will have your stomach rumbling with its pristine delicacy. In the game, characters can access food by cooking it or purchasing it from restaurants. The game provides players with three variant dishes; the regular version, suspicious and delicious. Suspicious dishes will decrease the player's stats by 20%, while delicious dishes will increase by the same percentage.

You can scavenge for ingredients to make variant dishes. You can turn a meal into a delicious dish depending on the character making the food and the rarity of the meal. Furthermore, Gensin Impact has an expansive roster of dishes that will have you wanting a bite. There are about 138 foods in the game that are not special dishes. Some examples are apple cider, Barbatos Ratatouille, and Butter Crab. These dishes will boost your character's stats or those of your party members.

4. Final Fantasy XV

Journey through the World of Eos and have a sumptuous meal from one of the multiple recipes in Final Fantasy XV. In the role-playing action game, the main character, Noctis Lucis Caelum, can learn new recipes by purchasing restaurant meals. You can then cook the meals based on the ingredients you have in your inventory. Moreover, you can find journals in specific locations around Eos to give Ignis a new recipe idea. There are a total of eight journals. The game will provide clues on where to locate each of them.

While the meals will give your character different buffs, you should note that the buffs are valid until the next sunset. What's more, the food is color-coded based on each character's favorite meal. For instance, Noctis' favorite meals will be blue, Promptop's will be yellow, Gladio's will be red, and green will be for Ignis. Consuming a different character's favorite meal will boost your stats, giving you a guaranteed critical attack.

The game's dishes appear too realistic; you'll be tempted to reach out for a grab. To achieve this, developers had the dishes prepared in real life and then photographed and scanned into the game.

3. I am Bread

In this peculiar simulator game, players take control of a slice of bread with one objective, to become toast. It seems easy, right? However, that's not the case. You may know how this game works if you've played Surgeon Simulator before. Moving the bread can be daunting because of the bread's awkward flop and grab controls. You must move the bread from its original point to its destination – the toaster. You must devise the most efficient route for the bread without touching a filthy surface or the floor.

While this staple breakfast meal may not be necessarily exciting, watching the toast turn brown is appetizing and possibly mouth-watering. You may soon be craving a slice of toast after completing the game.

2. Grand Theft Auto

If you love fast food, this Rockstar Game Series may make you leave your gaming chair. The main character, Carl Johnson, takes on a variety of tasks in the modern world and lives up to the game's name – auto theft.

The game's map has multiple restaurants where your character can replenish his health status. Depending on what you want to eat, you can opt for a burger, a slice of pizza, or go the healthy way with a plate load of salad. Moreover, you can also have a hotdog from one of the subtly placed hotdog vans. If you fancy a drink, walk into one of the buildings, and you'll find a drink-dispensing machine. You can purchase a drink and watch your character gulp it down to satisfaction.

1. Monster Hunter: World

Games Every Foodie Will Love

In a world of monsters, food is the game characters' solace and healing source. The game features a canteen where characters can replenish themselves by purchasing freshly cooked meals. You also get the option of cooking your meals, which gives you a boost if you want to square off with some of the powerful monsters.

Monster Hunter tests your cooking skills by giving you control of how you want your meals. For example, when cooking steak, you have to consider the timing. If you finish cooking early, you will end up with a rare steak, but if you leave it on for too long, you'll end up with a burnt steak.

Run by the Meow-scular chef, the canteen has a wide array of dishes that will give you and your team stat bonuses. To see the menu, you simply have to walk up to the chef, and it will pop up, displaying the various dishes. You can pay for your meal using points or money. Each meal has a distinct stat it adds to. For example, the meat platter will boost your health by 30 and increase your stamina by 25.
