Until Dawn 2024: How to Keep Jessica Alive

As Halloween is approaching and the gaming scenes are leaning more towards the scary and bloody scenes, a remake of Until Dawn is definitely an epic choice. The recently released remake creates intense dramatic moments as players try to save different characters. Here is where Jessica comes in as a contender in Until Dawn 2024, awaiting the player’s action to determine her status to make it out alive.

During the initial Chapters 1–3 of Until Dawn 2024 , Jessica isn’t in any imminent danger of death. However, this cultivates her relationships towards her survival later on. Within these chapters, it is advisable to ensure Jess doesn’t give in to harming any non-harmful characters in the game, like birds. Most importantly, with every decision given, select the option that strengthens her relations with her boyfriend Mike.

Moments Before Jessica’s First Nightmare

In Chapter three, Jess, accompanied by her boyfriend, Mike, set out into the woods for a secluded cabin. At this point, players are encouraged to choose every decision to strengthen their bond. That strong bond is the key to saving Jess’ life in a later chapter. If possible, make Jessica as flirtatious as plausible.

While walking towards the cabin, the duo hears some unwavering movements. In their playful mood, the couple plays the sounds off for mere forest animals or pranks. Their walk leads them to the cabin. Upon reaching the cabin, the scenes shift to Chapter 4, the heartbeat of Jessica’s chaos.

Mike Saving Jessica in Chapter 4

Shortly after reaching the cabin, the wendigo’s impending attack gets more serious. Jessica can hear the movements and weird sounds just outside their cabin. However, since they are unaware of any real dangers, the couple continues bonding.

Shortly after, the Wendigo shatters the cabin’s windows. And within a flash of time, it grabs Jess, dragging her into the woods. Mike is left in utter shock and disbelief. It takes him a while before he can gather himself. From here henceforth, Jessica’s survival in Until Dawn Remake solely depends on your actions while controlling Mike.

After grabbing a shotgun and a lamp, follow the sound of Jess in the woods. Your first QTE choices come shortly after. You’ll be tasked with choosing between a shortcut and a safe path. Its always better to follow the safe path. Not to say that the shortcut is a terrible idea; however, you need to limit the chance of harming Mike. Any harm to Mike will destabilize the rest of the mission, which fully relies on him. However, if you trust your stability with the controls enough, go for the latter; its a time saver. Ultimately, always select the safer route.

Between going around the vault and jumping over the logs, the second is your best alternative. While it saves you more time, its also more dangerous, but ultimately the choice with the best result. Once done, follow the path quickly, taking every action with as much haste as possible.

The tread afterwards gives you a choice between Shimmy and jump. Always jump; it saves you more time. Caution: be prompt with the controls. Finally, risk the slide down rather than going around the safer path for the same reason of saving time.

From here, walk down the abandoned building, following the railway tracks. If you succeed most QTEs on time, you’ll find Jessica lying unconscious on the elevator. If you fail, she will be dead with her jaw torn apart.

After determining Jessica’s condition, Mike should be prompt with his gun. Quickly aim at the wendigo and shoot to wade him away. At this point, your mission to save Jess is successful.

Chapter 9: Saving Jessica

Jessica reappears in Chapter 9 looking weak and sluggish with injuries from the drag across the forest. She is still unaware of what is happening or what really happened but struggles on. 

For her sake, players should minimize her chances of running to favor hiding. Remember, she is weak and in so much pain. If she runs, the wendigo will easily catch up to her and murder her.

At this point, Jess picks up her lantern and starts treading along the railway lines towards the crippy Wendigo voice. At some point in the walk, Jessica will get her first encounter with a wendigo. The player has to choose between running and hiding. Avoid the temptation to run away. Instead, go into hiding inside the shade.

The wendigo will come searching but retreat shortly after. Jessica’s escape will continue until the wendigo comes back. The next batch of options might be confusing a bit. The QTEs here are between running and breaking through a wooden fence. Considering Jessica’s health, bith options seem daunting.

However, be experimental. As it turns out, the wooden barrier is very unstable. In fact, Jessica easily breaks through the woods. Therefore, select the ‘Break Through’ option. Once she’s out of the cave, she will hide on one of the sides, deeming herself safe one more time.

Chapter 9: Saving Jessica with Matt

In chapter nine, Matt finds Jess within the mines. Before locating Jess, Matt should choose QTEs to make him safe. After hearing Jess, he should move towards her quickly.

Once with Jessica, Matt’s reactions to the QTEs will decide whether both or only one of them live or die. When prompted to hide or run, choose hide. Remember, Jess doesn’t have the strength to run and in the attempt she will be captured.

The other QTEs will challenge you either to save Jess or abandon her. Save her. Then finally choose to break through and the two of you will be safe from the Wendigo

That’s her final moment of survival. Jessica and Matt survived the ordeal in Until Dawn 2024. After the dawn’s rescue, she talks about her ordeal. It is certain that Jessica doesn’t know much. However, she recalls Mike as her savior. She is highly grateful to him but also concerned about his whereabouts. Jessica is also worried whether Mike is safe from the entire nightmare in Until Dawn 2024.
