Ubisoft Moves Rayman Legends Retold Release to December 3

Ubisoft has delayed Rayman Legends Retold, moving the reimagined platformer from its previously announced October 1, 2026 release date to December 3, 2026. The Rayman development team announced the change on September 14, 2026, in a statement posted to the official Rayman account, telling fans the game had gone gold but that the teams behind it had decided to take extra time.
“While the game has officially gone gold, we have decided to take extra time to make sure every detail gets the care it deserves,” the statement read. The message, signed “The Rayman Dev Team,” thanked fans for their patience, support and trust on behalf of all the teams working on the game.
In a follow-up reply posted the same day, the account confirmed that Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition, the updated 2D platformer bundled with the game, will also release on December 3.
Revealed During Sony’s State of Play in June 2026
Rayman Legends Retold was announced during Sony’s State of Play presentation in June 2026, when Ubisoft’s announcement dated the game for October 1 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, GeForce Now, Blacknut, and PC through the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan, it is a reimagining of the classic platformer that sends Rayman, Globox, Barbara, Grand Minimus, and Murphy on a journey to restore peace to the Glade of Dreams after a shadowy villain spreads chaos throughout the realms.
According to Ubisoft, the limbless hero and his friends leap, glide, and punch their way through enemies and boss fights while rescuing Teensies throughout the Glade of Dreams. The publisher’s feature list includes 3D visuals, a brand-new story, fully voiced cinematics, a never-before-seen sixth realm, four all-new musical stages, dragon rides, new Cave of Trials challenges, and the return of Kung Foot with improved controls and customizable rules. The expanded soundtrack comes from composers Christophe Héral and Grant Kirkhope.
“Rayman Legends Retold is our way of revisiting what makes Rayman so special, and re-telling that experience for a new generation of players,” Brand Producer Loïc Gounon said in Ubisoft’s announcement. “We wanted to preserve everything fans love, and Legends gave us the perfect foundation to expand Rayman’s lore, its world logic, and how everything connects together.”
Price, Platforms, and Editions
Ubisoft’s official game page lists a release date of December 3, 2026. The page offers the game for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, GeForce Now, and Blacknut at $39.99, carries ESRB content descriptors for fantasy violence, mild language, and crude humor, and notes in-game purchases. The game supports solo play or up to four-player couch co-op and will be available on release day with an Ubisoft+ subscription.
The page categorizes the game as an action-adventure platformer, describing a mysterious new realm and new musical stages, and highlights a July 2026 article introducing Kung Foot Evo, the new and revamped Kung Foot game mode.
The Standard Edition includes the base game and Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition, which Ubisoft describes as the 2D platforming adventure updated with 4K resolution, 60 FPS, new collectibles and rewards, haptic feedback for compatible controllers, and new quality-of-life features. The digital-only Deluxe Edition adds the Retro Pack and an Art Gallery, while the retail-only Launch Edition adds a printed Glade of Dreams map, a set of three lithographs, and a slipcase. Anyone who pre-orders any edition receives the Hoodlum Havoc pack, which includes two costumes for Rayman and Globox inspired by Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc, according to Ubisoft.
A Game Overview trailer arrives September 22, 2026, with creators and press sharing hands-on impressions the same day, according to the team’s statement. Rayman Legends Retold and Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition both release December 3, 2026.
