It has been some time since the release of the last truly outstanding action-adventure RPG. Fortunately, Permanent Way Games, a new developer, is hoping to change this with its new game, The Land of the Magnates. The game is still under development but already shows great potential, building excitement and anticipation in the gaming community.

The Land of the Magnates will not come out until 2025, and the developers are tight-lipped about what to expect. However, we have done our research and are glad to share this overview of everything we know about the game.

What is The Land of the Magnates?

The Land of the Magnates is a highly anticipated action-adventure RPG game. Inspired by real-world myths from the Middle East. The game is set in a magical world and is based on a tragic story of death, betrayal, and redemption.

The game delivers an exciting adventure that comes from exploring the different magical worlds, solving complex puzzles that require quick thinking, and interacting with the various elements. It also delivers explosive action from fighting the scary minions you come across throughout your journey. Interestingly, its gameplay is reminiscent of iconic games like The Prince of Persia.

Story

The Land of the Magnates has an intriguing and tragic background story. It is based on The Land of the Sun, a fantastical kingdom from Middle Eastern mythology.

The Land of the Sun was once a place of joy and music, not so long ago. However, everything changed when someone killed the queen and poisoned the king, leaving his life hanging in the balance. What’s more, the prince, Malik Shahbaz, stands falsely accused of the heinous crime. Now, The Land of the Sun is shrouded by a sinister darkness instead of light and joy, and an eerie silence has replaced the music.

Based on this background story, The Land of the Magnates follows the prince’s adventure. The prince makes a daring escape and sets out to traverse the land to set everything right. He must find an antidote for his father’s poison and a way to clear his name for his mother’s murder, thereby bringing light, joy, and music back to the land and reclaiming his throne.

However, the adventure is long, tedious, and dangerous. The prince must fight scary monsters, avoid deadly hazards, lift powerful curses, and solve perplexing puzzles in his quest to cure his father and regain his lost honor and glory.

Gameplay

The Land of the Magnates’ gameplay comprises three major elements: adventure, action, and solving puzzles. As the prince, you will go on an adventurous journey exploring the four magical kingdoms as you escape your accusers and search for a cure for the king. Each kingdom is unique and features diverse elements that you can interact with.

Your journey across the four magical kingdoms will be laden with obstacles and hazards that will put your puzzle-solving skills to the test. For example, you will come across open tranches, sinking bridges, and other obstacles that you must overcome using some creativity.

The game is also action-packed, as you must fight different types of monsters and minions blocking your way. Fortunately, you have a unique weapon that blasts musical waves. However, the monsters also have weapons and different attack strategies.

Development

Permanent Way Games is the developer behind The Land of the Magnates. Surprisingly, this is the developer’s first game, and it will be interesting to see how it turns out. However, the game will be published by Freedom Games.

Trailer

The Land of the Magnates trailer is quite insightful. Interestingly, it doesn’t tell the game’s story but instead delves right into its setting, environment, and gameplay.

The trailer begins with a quick overview of the game’s setting, including the towns, buildings, and landscapes. It also showcases the fugitive prince running through different scenes and settings, from majestic buildings and pristine landscapes to perilous environment, highlighting the game’s adventurous aspect. Notably, the trailer also showcases different traps, obstacles, and hazards, highlighting the game’s puzzle-solving elements.

The best part of the trailer showcases the prince fighting diverse enemies. Interestingly, the enemies are quite bizarre, ranging from floating ghost-like creatures to chunky minions. The combat is unique, and the prince uses his trusted sitar to shoot what looks like musical waves to vanquish his enemies. Ultimately, the trailer does an excellent job of building anticipation for the game.

Release Date, Platforms & Editions

The Land of the Magnates is scheduled to launch sometime in 2025; the developers will announce a specific release date over time. It will be a long wait, considering the anticipation building in the gaming community.

The game is designed for PCs, like most other complex RPG games in its class. Unfortunately, it is unclear whether the game will support consoles.

The minimum system requirements to install and run the game include 8GB of installed RAM memory and at least 24GB of free space. Moreover, the PC must have an AMD Radeon R7 360 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 Ti graphics card with at least 4GB (or an equivalent alternative) to support the game’s graphics. Additionally, the processor must be a Core i5 6600 K or AMD (or an equivalent alternative). Other general requirements include Version 12 DirectX, a Windows 7 OS (or higher), and a 64-bit processor.

However, going beyond the minimum system requirements is recommendable for a smoother gaming experience. To this end, we recommend AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 graphics cards with 8GB for better graphics support. Additionally, the Windows 10 OS can support the game better than Windows 7; besides, Steam only supports Windows 10 and later OS versions.

The Land of the Magnates is a brand-new game. However, it wouldn’t be surprising if it turned into a series, considering the intriguing story and creativity potential.
