Monopoly Blackjack Progressive Hits Metropolitan London Casinos

Less than a week after showcasing its new live dealer and table games, Galaxy Gaming has pounced on the UK market. On the 26th of January, Galaxy Gaming Inc announced that it wil launch its Monopoly table games across top tier landbased casinos in London. This new injection of games into the Metropolitan Casinos in London will begin with Galaxy Gaming’s Monopoly Blackjack Progressive, reimagining the classic board game for landbased casinos. This promises to be the start of a revolutionary influx of new types of table games, and it marks exciting times for UK gamers up ahead.

From a wider glance, this is yet another shift in the landbased gaming landscape, as game suppliers are integrating more aspects of online gaming into landbased casinos. Themed games, dynamic screens with added side bets and multipliers are the kinds of features you would expect at an RNG blackjack game at an online casino. Or potentially a live dealer game, which is conducted at real life casinos, but behind closed doors with a full setup. But Galaxy Gaming wants to make those types of games accessible to anyone in the casino pit.

What is Monopoly Blackjack Progressive

Gamers got a first glimpse of Monopoly Blackjack Progressive at ICE Barcelona. Galaxy Gaming showcased the game at the prestigious iGaming event, alongside its Yahtzee table game, where they were well received by conference goers and business insiders.

Monopoly Blackjack Progressive is a themed version of blackjack with a progressive feature and multipliers to add more flavor to the conventional game of 21. Mr. Monopoly randomly selects hands and awards multipliers to them, with some going as high up as 10x. It is hosted at a gaming table, where you can stake your bets with gaming chips, cards are drawn, and you play rounds of classic blackjack.

The big twist is that there is a screen beside the table, which displays different types of hands in the form of Monopoly board spaces, and when you land one of these, you can snap up a generous multiplier to ampify winning hands. It will change your blackjack strategy, and alter the house edge some, but this game promises to bolster engagement and give blackjack players something a little out of the ordinary.

This entry will mark the first time MONOPOLY branded progressive table games hit the UK, and the Monopoly Blackjack Progressive is just the first entry by Galaxy Gaming into the selected Metropolitan London Casinos. It still has plenty of Monpoly themed progressives to enter if the blackjack hits the ground running. We could see Perfect Pairs Progressive, Poker Progressive, 21+3 Progressive, and more entering the UK in the near future.

Metropolitan Casinos in London

The casinos in question include the Metropolitan Mayfair, Empire Casino, The Sportsman Casino and Park Lane Club, some of Metropolitan Gaming’s finest casino venues in the UK. The British gaming corporation runs 11 casinos in the UK and Egypt. Formerly known as the London Clubs International, Metropolitan Gaming was acquired by Harrah’s Entertainment and then was owned by Caesars Entertainment before it was sold to Emerald Resort & Casino, a South African Casino company led by Tsogo Sun. Metropolitan Gaming is well known for its table games, specifically poker. The company has hosted the World Series of Poker Europe numerous times, at the Empire Casino in London.

Who Are Galaxy Gaming

Galaxy Gaming is based in Las Vegas, and specializes in creating table games for landbased casinos. The supplier has 30+ licensed titles at the time of writing, covering Dragon Tiger, Baccarat, Blackjack, Dice Games, Poker (Texas Hold’em and Omaha games), Craps, and various alternative card games. Founded in 2006, the company is noted for its unique progressive jackpot configurations, and the self dubbed “world’s first dynamic progressive”. In 2024, Evolution began proceedings to acquire Galaxy Gaming, but this was delayed due to regulatory approvals not being obtained in time.

Evolution Acquisition of Galaxy

Evolution Gaming has stakes in Galaxy, and now a deadline of 17 June 2026 has been agreed for when Evolution will buy the remaining shares. After this, Galaxy Gaming will still operate, but as a subsidiary of Evolution. It is quite a savvy move from Galaxy’s side, as with Evolution’s budget and partnerships, they will have the resources to expand and bolster their offering. The acquisition would put Galaxy Gaming alongside the likes of:

  • NetEnt
  • Red Tiger
  • Ezugi
  • Big Time Gaming
  • NoLimit City
  • Livespins

In 2025, Galaxy Gaming secured a licensing partnership with Hasbro, the owner of MONOPOLY and other brands like Yahtzee, Battleship, Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, and many more. Evolution also secured a partnership with Hasbro, but there will be no rivalry between the two now that they are heading towards a partnership themselves. At ICE Barcelona 2026, where Galaxy Gaming debuted the Monopoly games and its own Yahtzee, Evolution roadmapped a whopping 119 new titles for 2026. This partnership could revolutionize the iGaming landscape, and with Galaxy Gaming by Evolution’s side, they will also bring many of those solutions and games to landbased casinos.

More iGaming Features at Landbased Casinos

There is a prominent change in the way landbased game suppliers and operators are trying to engage players, borrowing heavily from iGaming platforms. Landbased casinos across the US, and all over the world are in direct competition with online platforms, and while iGaming leads the charge, these landbased venues are not far behind. More suppliers are changing gaming cabinets to introduce online slots or video poker design elements, with proven player centric features, multipliers and bonuses to layer traditional games, and side bets to enhance the engagement.

Landbased casinos have physical space restrictions that iGaming platforms don’t. So while the top Vegas Strip or Macau casinos can offer 2,000+ games, they are working within the spatial requirements of the casino floor. However, more multi-game terminals are being introduced to increase the variety and the casino’s versatility. Also, we have seen lots of iGaming suppliers turn their attention to landbased venues. One big addition was the introduction of NetEnt classic online slots to landbased casinos, with Starburst and Divine Fortune making their way to casino floors.

Another example of this was Play’n GO releasing 13 titles for UK landbased casinos back in December. More of the classically “iGaming” providers are looking to expand into landbased casinos, enhancing not only their visibility but also adding important revenue streams. For classic table games, we see more titles that add themes, progressive jackpots or side bets, and bonus games to enhance the base gameplay.

Galaxy Gaming, like Play’n GO, will test its titles at London Casinos. It is the perfect entry point to introduce new games to landbased gaming audiences, and if it gains traction, Evolution will be waiting in the wings. Loads of progressives and branded content are likely to follow, and we could be looking at more innovations and unique creations for landbased casinos across the world in 2026.
