A predominantly Muslim country, it may surprise some that Morocco has a vibrant gambling scene. Yet it does, and Morocco is actually one of the most lenient countries in North Africa for its gambling legislation. There is just one thing you have to take note of. The gambling destinations and casino games, they are for tourists only.
Moroccan citizens are technically prohibited from entering casinos. They can only play if they have foreign citizenship or hold a passport from another country. Morocco has had legal gambling since the 1960s, and it is entirely designed with tourists in mind.
Largest Casinos in Morocco
The country has plenty of larger gaming venues, and they all sit in easy to access resorts or touristy urban areas. The gambling venues are mostly run by the hotel chains they are attached to. Or, they are chains of foreign casino operators, like the Spanish giant Cirsa Enterprises SA. The large influx of European tourists naturally influences the gaming scene in Morocco. It features many of the casino games you would find at French casinos, or gaming venues in Spain. But, of course, with a twist.
For a lot of these sit deep in tourist resorts, or chic areas of Marrakesh. There are no designated zones where you will find a high concentration of casinos, like the Vegas Strip. No, you will need to know where to look. But, from the southern shores of Agadir, to Marrakesh in the middle, and Tangiers to the North, you can rest assured, there are world class gaming zones to look out for in Morocco.

More specifically, to the Spanish Canary Islands, which are pretty easily accessible with multiple direct flights from Marrakesh to Las Palmas every week.
The Canary Islands are home to loads of casinos, with many resorts providing modest gaming venues for their guests. But we didn’t want to highlight the smaller venues, but rather comb through the islands fro the biggest, and most diverse gaming complexes.
