Alan Wake 2: Length, Release Date & Story

2023 is clearly rife with fresh survival horror video games, but it could very well be Remedy Entertainment that brings home the gold with the well-overdue Alan Wake 2.

Set to release on October 17, 2023, Alan Wake 2 will once again delve deep into the shadow realm—the dark place in which both titular protagonist Alan Wake and a new character will unravel a new series of mysteries across Bright Falls. It’ll be a much longer journey, too, with Remedy Entertainment confirming that the story length will be roughly 20 hours, give or take. And while the difficulty and play style you adopt will of course play a key factor in that, the fact remains the same: the upcoming sequel will be around double the size of its original chapter.

Alan Wake 2 Story & Characters

“A series of ritual murders threatens Bright Falls, a small community surrounded by nature on the Pacific Northwest coast,” reads the blurb. “Saga Anderson, a veteran FBI agent with a reputation for solving impossible cases, arrives to investigate. The case turns into a nightmare when she discovers the pages of a horror story that begins to come true around her.”
“Alan Wake, a writer lost in a nightmare beyond our world, writes a sinister story in an attempt to shape his reality and escape his prison. Haunted by a dark horror, Wake tries to stay sane and defeat the devil at his own game.” Spooky stuff.

Alan Wake 2 will be heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 17, 2023. You can go ahead and add it to your wishlist or pre-order it on either consoles or the Epic Games Store today.
