Here’s a challenge. Can you play A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead without making a sound? No screams. No cursing out in frustration. Just you and the bone-chilling monsters trying to eat you alive? It’s one thing watching A Quiet Place unflustered. It’s another being in the driver’s seat, experiencing the dangers of a world on the brink of an apocalypse. As excitement continues to build up for fans of the blockbuster franchise and survival horrors, in general, we’ve compiled everything we know so far about the upcoming A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead down below.
What is A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead?
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is an upcoming single-player survival horror adventure game. It’ll be the first-ever official video game that takes place in the unsettling and terrifying universe of the hit Paramount Pictures’ franchise, A Quiet Place. The first film was released to worldwide critical acclaim. Later, a prequel film called A Quiet Place: Day One was released.
You can expect a monsterverse crawling with abominations whose only ambition is to rip you apart. But thankfully, they have a weakness you can exploit: blindness. To compensate for blindness, they have developed ultra-sensitive hearing, demanding that you survive without making a sound. Even the slightest sound can cause you to die.
Story
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead plans to craft a brand-new story set in a familiar universe depicted in the popular A Quiet Place film. Deadly alien creatures invade Earth. As a young asthmatic woman, Alex, you’ll struggle to survive an impending apocalypse, with your boyfriend Martin. Meanwhile, you’ll also tackle personal conflicts with family. Combined, the terror in the world and interpersonal relationships will push you to face your inner fears.
Gameplay
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will be a survival adventure, pushing you to scavenge for supplies in a world on the brink of apocalypse. You must not make a sound, as you pull cabinets and rummage through derelict buildings. If you happen to make a sound and the deadly creatures spot you, you’ll have to use whatever tool you can pick up in the environment to fight them off. Check out some of the key features you can expect in the final game below.
- Unnerving atmosphere: Deadly alien creatures out for blood will hunt you down. While they are blind, they are sensitive to sound. Get ready to feel terror as you hide from bloodthirsty monsters and attempt to sneak by them.
- Untold story: The upcoming game will draw inspiration from A Quiet Place movie franchise. Yet, it’ll craft a brand-new story about a young woman surviving a post-apocalyptic world.
- Uncanny ingenuity: A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will give you the freedom to carve out your own path. You’ll explore the world for useful supplies. The tools you find in the environment will be your weapons against deadly creatures.

Trailer
Check out the A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead announcement trailer out now on YouTube. It showcases a mix of gameplay and cinematic footage of the story and gameplay you can expect in the final game. On Day One, everything is normal. The protagonist Alex and her boyfriend Martin are sitting out on the patio chatting about their relationship. A man is grilling a barbecue in the backyard. It looks like an outdoor picnic is in full swing. Suddenly, alien ships fall down from the sky. The monsters with ultra-sensitive hearing have arrived.
Fast-forward to day 105, Earth is in shambles. Cars have been destroyed. Helicopters have crash-landed in the middle of nowhere. Alex climbs on top of an overturned bus as aliens make screeching sounds out into the distance. Alex and Martin have to use signs to communicate. They scavenge the environment for tools and supplies.
Meanwhile, Alex discovers that she’s pregnant and passes out. Later, we see a man who wields a shotgun against gruesome monsters from the back of a moving car. There are underground bunkers whose sprinkler system fails, causing a massive fire outbreak. Alien creatures shriek inside the bunker. Nowhere is safe.
Further, a random guy gets hauled out of the bunker by the deadly creatures. The monsters bolt from place to place like lightning. They have a whirlwind of teeth inside petal-like lips. They have extended appendages the size of an electric pole. We see dark corridors with only candles for light. Most places feature eerie atmospheres with more shrieking sounds in the background and, well, you get the picture.
