Genshin Impact is an immensely popular CRPG with an absolutely astronomical fanbase. Recently the game celebrated the release of update 3.3, which added a ton of new content to the game. One of the main features of this content patch is the introduction of the Genius Invokation TCG (Trading Card Game). There is a lot to this system to keep up with, so without further ado, here is Genshin Impact: 5 Things You Need to Know About Genius Invokation TCG.

5. Where to Play

The Genius Invokation TCG can be played by visiting the Cat's Tail in Mondstadt. Doing so will allow players to play through a brief tutorial explaining the various ins and outs of the game. Once you start the quest, you are greeted by Diona and Sucrose, which are both interested in the game. You will then play your first tutorial match, and the game will walk you through everything step by step. This approach is very helpful to new players and also allows players to learn the mechanics bit by bit.

Once you complete the tutorial match, you will be tasked with finding other characters to play against. This task leads you around Mondstadt in search of players. Once you find these players, you will face them. Upon completing these duels, you will be able to access the match board that will allow you to participate in different matches. This will let you face more opponents other than the ones you find around the map. All in all, finding where to start these quests is pretty simple, just go to the Cat's Tail and meet the quest prerequisites.

4. How to Play

The gameplay within the Genius Invokation TCG is pretty straightforward. Players are allowed to build a deck of cards and face other Genshin Impact characters in the card game. Various cards can be won by dueling against different characters around Mondstadt. The game allows for three different types of cards. First, there are your character cards, which effectively serve as monsters. Then there are Action cards that will enable the characters to do certain actions.

Dice are rolled in order to determine which elements you will be able to use. For example, if you rolled several Pyro dies, you would be able to use a Pyro character's ability, such as Dilucs Elemental Burst. It is surprising how many characters fit into the card game so well. One interesting element that players will want to take advantage of whenever possible is the reaction system. Elements react in the card game the way they do in battle, which is a nice touch. In closing, playing the Genius Invokation TCG can be an incredibly rewarding experience with a shocking amount of depth.

3. What Can You Earn

Right now, the most that you can earn is a currency that you can exchange for cards or the cards themselves from facing various opponents. That isn't to say that this is the only thing you can earn, however, as you can also earn Primogems by participating in these duels. Doing so will allow you to save up for that character you have been waiting to wish on. Currently, there are over 150 duels that players can participate in around the world of Genshin Impact. With such a significant number of duels, players are sure to find a challenge as well as worthwhile rewards.

Players who do their best to seek out rarer and stronger duelists will be rewarded with greater rewards. So if you are the type of player that values exploration, then this TCG will also feed into that gameplay loop. Players can also earn different character-based title cards around the game. This means they will have the distinction of having these, while other players who didn't put the time in will not. In conclusion, there are a lot of rewards for playing the TCG that reward different kinds of players. This looks to be a fantastic inclusion in the game.

2. Why Players Should Play

The incentive for playing the Genius Invokation TCG is relatively simple to understand. Players who put time into the system will be given with Primogems for their efforts. This alone really is reason enough to pick up the minigame, but that isn't the only thing that players can enjoy from this terrific timesink. If players are looking into pulling for a character and are a little short on Primogems, then this game can help their situations quite a bit.

Other than being fun, this game also functions to bring a new way to play with friends. You can build multiple decks and then take then into battle in live matches against other players. While this doesn't yield any rewards, it's a great way to spend your time in-game. While there are no official online leaderboards, there will no doubt be tournaments held at cons.

1. Lots to Do

There amount of content that HoYoverse put into this content expansion is mind-boggling.  There are over 200 cards to get and 145 opponents to challenge across Teyvat. This isn't something you can pull off in a single night, as each duel can take several minutes to complete.  You will be working at beating all the Genius Invokation challengers for days on end. You will even find that dueling NPCs comes with rewards such as more Lucky Coins to spend on dynamic skins or free cards that you can't get anywhere else to add to your deck.

In fact, there is a whole invitation system you will need to learn to use to challenge characters like Ningguang and Diluc to duels. If you can manage to beat them, you will even earn their character card. By having a large range of character cards, you can open yourself up to hundreds of strategies. This makes the game go even deeper and will allow you to take on harder opponents later down the line.
