CD PROJEKT RED Brings Cyberpunk 2077 to Battle.net in BlizzCon Reveal

CD PROJEKT RED announced during BlizzCon 2026 that Cyberpunk 2077 and its Phantom Liberty expansion will launch on Battle.net later in 2026. The studio published the announcement on September 14, 2026, as part of its recently announced partnership with Blizzard Entertainment.
Players will be able to purchase the base game and Phantom Liberty separately, or buy Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, which contains both. CD PROJEKT RED described Cyberpunk 2077 as its open-world action-adventure RPG.
The 30 Years of Battle.net Panel
At this year’s BlizzCon, hosted by Blizzard Entertainment, CD PROJEKT RED team members Amelia Korzycka, Expert Community and Social Media Manager, and Miles Tost, Level Design Lead, joined the keynote panel titled “30 Years of Battle.net With Special Guest CD PROJEKT RED.” The panel discussed the recently announced partnership between the two companies and how bringing Cyberpunk 2077 to Battle.net came about. The panel was streamed live and is available to watch on demand.
The panel’s focus also shifted to the anime side of the Cyberpunk franchise. In 2027, Overwatch will receive content themed on Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, CD PROJEKT RED said. The crossover news arrived on the 4th anniversary of the series, which the company described as award-winning, and just over a month ahead of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, which premieres exclusively on Netflix on October 20, 2026.
How the Battle.net Partnership Began
Cyberpunk 2077 arrives on Battle.net in quick succession to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered and its upcoming expansion Songs of the Past. Remastered is available to pre-purchase on Battle.net ahead of its September 29, 2026 release, while Songs of the Past can be wishlisted on the platform ahead of its 2027 release.
CD PROJEKT RED first announced the partnership during gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25, 2026, confirming Remastered for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and a native Nintendo Switch 2 version alongside Battle.net, all on September 29. The upgrade is free for existing The Witcher 3 owners on qualifying platforms, and the company said it brings a range of enhancements to visuals, performance, and gameplay, including enhanced combat, improved traversal and movement, new witcher sign effects, revamped mount handling, enhanced monster behaviors, a skill tree revamp, transmogrification, an expanded photo mode, and new finishers.
On stage at gamescom, Opening Night Live host Geoff Keighley announced that all current The Witcher 3 owners gained access to the game’s original two expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, at no additional cost. Songs of the Past will launch in 2027 as a paid expansion for The Witcher 3 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, taking Geralt to Letten, a new land the company described as an idyllic realm of rural tradition hiding a dark secret. CD PROJEKT RED is co-developing the expansion with Fool’s Theory, a studio with leadership made up of Witcher 3 veterans, while Remastered is being co-developed with Yigsoft.
Blizzard’s own announcement described the tie-up as a partnership between two studios and called The Witcher 3 one of the best-selling role-playing games of all time. It said the Battle.net version of Remastered includes the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions alongside modernizations across visuals and gameplay. Blizzard’s post introduced the game to its players as the story of Geralt of Rivia, a professional monster slayer known as a witcher, tracking his adopted daughter Ciri ahead of the spectral riders of the Wild Hunt. Blizzard said at the time that it would share more information about the collaboration at BlizzCon in September.
Geralt-Themed Barbarian Skin for Diablo IV
The BlizzCon panel delivered the full reveal of the Geralt-themed Barbarian skin for Diablo IV. Any Battle.net player who pre-purchases Songs of the Past when pre-purchase becomes available, or who purchases the expansion when it launches, will be able to claim it. CD PROJEKT RED said the skin is the first piece of Witcher-inspired content coming to Diablo IV, with more in the works for Blizzard’s action-RPG in 2027 and details to be revealed at a later date.
Remastered launches on Battle.net on September 29, 2026, followed by Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty, and the Ultimate Edition later in 2026. Songs of the Past, the Overwatch crossover content, and the additional Witcher-inspired Diablo IV content are all scheduled for 2027.
