5 Best DPS Characters in Genshin Impact

Updated on

Genshin Impact is a huge game that is ever-expanding. This is because additional areas and characters are being added several times a year. It can be pretty easy to get lost with all the information that constantly comes out about the game. The Spiral Abyss, for one, is always changing the Meta of the game. There is also the addition of new artifact sets and weapons that shakes up characters. This is especially true for DPS characters who are always fighting for the top spot in the game. To help you pick a solid DPS, we made a list of five great five-star DPS characters, all with a different element to help slot them into your team with ease.

5. Ganyu

Ganyu is still making waves as she is a heavy-hitting Cryo bow-user. Despite being a ranged character, she is one of the strongest DPS characters in the game. Her elemental skill summons a lure that attracts enemies and then explodes. Her elemental skill will rain Cryo damage down unto the field in a large AoE. Even her charge shot is powerful and can quickly help take out enemies. All you need to do is buff her with characters like Bennett or Shenhe, and she's good to go. She is even able to easily cause reaction damage thanks to her elemental skill, which can be kept on the field rather easily.

Ganyu can also be switched to a support role at any time. This makes her one of the most versatile characters in the game and one of the best Liyue five stars. Pairing her with characters like Raiden Shogun, Ayato, and Xingqiu can be completely devastating. If you pair her with the Amo's Bow, which can be obtained from the standard banner, then she is one of the best DPS characters. Best of all, you can easily use her even if she is at c0.

4. Ayato

Ayato is a Hydro sword-user who is insanely easy to play, even for new players. His whole kit is simple and just requires holding or pressing a button. Ayato's elemental skill lets him constantly deal Hydro damage to enemies. His elemental burst rains Hydro damage down onto the field in a large AoE similar to Ganyu's burst. While he may not be captain of the National Team, he is a solid DPS that is a breeze to use. He's especially great for vape and freeze teams. In addition, he is rather easy to build a team around, making him even more valuable.

While many players do prefer Tartaglia, he is harder to manage. You also need his C1 to keep up his close-range form, while Ayato is great from C0. This makes him a great DPs for free-to-play players who aren't looking to pour money into a five-star. Ayato also happens to be considered one of the more attractive male characters, which wins him even more points with the fan base.

3. Xiao

Xiao DPS

Xiao is beta character that finally got his release right beside Ganyu. He is an Anemo spear-user and the only remaining Yakasha in Liyue. His attacks are incredibly powerful, but he does deplete his health to use his burst. Xiao's elemental skill let's you quickly do an Anemo slash through the air. His elemental burst depletes his health, but lets him pogo stick around the field doing massive anemo damage. This can easily be turned into swirl damage by giving him a supporting party.

Xiao is great at c0, but if you do manage to get him to c6, he feels like a different character. While any five-star is broke at c6, Xiao just becomes a complete monster. Just make sure his health bar stays full and you will decimate any enemies in your path. This is especially true if you pull his weapon, the Primordial Jade Winged-Spear.

2. Hu Tao

Hu Tao is another spear-user, but her element is Pyro. She has long been seen as one of the heaviest hitting DPS characters in the game, especially with how overpowered Pyro users tend to be. Hu Tao, like Xiao, depletes her health when using one of her abilities. Her elemental skill converts all damage to Pyro and increases her attack. The skill does drain her health in exchange though. Her burst is a quick AoE attack that deals a good amount of damage. Most players are more intrested in her Paramita Papilio form, though, and will try to keep it up as much they can.

Hu Tao can function well without any constellations, but if you can get her the Staff of Homa, she will destroy enemies. Hu Tao can be paired with characters like Mona and Kazuha for massive reaction damage. As long as you can keep her alive, she is one, if not the best, Pyro user in the game.

1. Raiden Shogun

Raiden Shogun is one of the best DPS characters in the game. In fact, the Raiden National Team is a go-to for clearing the Spiral Abyss. This is thanks to how easy it is to apply electro damage with Raiden and get her burst to do high amounts of damage. When she uses her elemental burst, hitting an enemy will trigger an electro attack. When she uses her burst, she unleashes an electro attack, followed by a period of attacking with her Musou no Hitotach.

Raiden is another character that you don't need to worry about maxing out. You can have a c0 Raiden and still easily deal with the Abyss with the right team. Like most characters, it does help to have her signature weapon, but it's not a requirement. She also has some of the highest banner sales in the game, which helps to further prove how she is one of the best DPS characters in the game.
