Best Boss Fights in Crimson Desert, Ranked

From humanoid creatures to monsters, the bosses in Crimson Desert are pretty unique in appearance and attack patterns. Despite there being 76+ bosses across your main story run and optional bosses you run into while exploring,  Pearl Abyss has done a pretty good job of designing unique encounters, plus some impressive variants, that you won’t soon forget. But how do they compare in difficulty and memorability? We’ve ranked the best boss fights in Crimson Desert.

10. Draven the Crowcaller

Draven the Crowcaller is a main boss found in chapter five of the main story. He is a tough boss to beat, wielding two-handed blades that swing at you pretty fast. You have to master his attack patterns and anticipate the perfect time to parry his swings. Otherwise, his flurry of attacks will quickly drain your health and supplies.

With enough healing items, you can make it through his three phases. The phases increase in aggression and speed. But precisely blocking and dodging his attacks, and following up quickly with counter-attacks will stagger him and eventually build up enough damage to finish him off.

9. Master Du

Master Du comes up next in chapter nine. His two health bars make him a tough nut to crack, in addition to teleporting swiftly across the battlefield and quickly evading your attacks. If you can learn his attack patterns, though, you might have a shot at beating him.

The boss fight occurs in two phases, with the second time around buffing his speed and damage. But you can counter that, too, with preparation ahead of the boss fight. Make sure to stockpile food and healing items, dodge quickly, and attack relentlessly enough to drain his health.

8. The Forgotten General

When exploring the Odeck Ruins, you’ll run into The Forgotten General. For a side quest, you might be fooled into thinking she’ll be a quick fight. But she soon proves fast with powerful summons. Worse? Her attacks are unblockable. And so, the best way is to quickly dodge out of the way.

7. The Reed Devil

In chapter three, you’ll come across The Reed Devil. Never mind that it’ll have been torture to actually get to him, you’ll find it especially hard to avoid taking damage. So, it’s about holding on long enough, blocking the attacks that you can, or avoiding them altogether. This one’s a tough boss fight that, either way, will take multiple tries.

6. Saigord, the Staglord

Another three-phase challenge you’ll loathe among the best boss fights in Crimson Desert is Saigord, the Staglord. He’s also an optional boss you’ll find in the Icemoor Castle Ruins. While you may, at first, cower under Saigord’s flashy attacks, given how fast they are, he’s actually one of the slower bosses.

So, when you’re on high alert, you can find slim windows of opportunity to inflict devastating attacks of your own. It may take a while, but you’ll also find his weakness, dodge rolling behind him to strike him right at the torso.

5. Kearush the Slayer

In chapter five, you’ll find Kearush the Slayer. His gorilla-like appearance may intimidate you. And when the fight begins, you sure will be intimidated, given how much trouble he’s given Crimson Desert players.

But his melee attacks focus forward, which you can take advantage of by getting behind him to attack. Or make the boss fight easier by jumping on his back and stabbing him. Either way, his manic flurry of attacks shouldn’t find you because they’ll pin you down and kill you.

4. Beloth, the Darksworn

There’s no beating Beloth, the Darksworn, without buffing yourself against his ice-based attacks. Fortunately, you can level up Ice Resistance. Mind you, Ice Resistance only protects you from the freezing cold of Beloth’s residence. Otherwise, his ice attacks will still inflict damage, as well as passive damage from the frozen lake around you.

Beloth’s rightly a tough boss, given that you run into him in the optional endgame content. Most players who take him on have maxed out their stats. Any one of his attacks drains your health pretty bad. Or they may even one-shot kill you. Meanwhile, his health bar is proper buffed.

3. Priscus the Ancient

Some of the best boss fights in Crimson Desert are the ones that are like a puzzle you need to figure out. And Priscus the Ancient is just one of those well-designed fights that have a clever way of beating him.

He’s an optional endgame boss, as well, found in the Spire of Ringing Truth. I won’t spoil how to solve the puzzle for this boss fight. But know that you do need to experiment and find the specific skills that will take him down (as well as actually master those skills).

2. Ator, Archon of Antumbra

Ator, Archon of Antumbra, has also given Crimson Desert players a lot of trouble. He’s yet another optional endgame boss found in the Cloister of Ruination. Both his offense and defense are well-stocked. Even if you land a successful hit, it barely makes a dent in his health bar. Meanwhile, his attacks knock you out of your senses.

As a result, your attacks need to be as powerful as possible through leveling up your gear and getting the strongest build. Fortunately, you’ll realize Ator’s attacks are relatively easy to anticipate. So, you can practice, with lots of patience, when to go in with your attacks.

1. Awakened Ludvig

Awakened Ludvig is the second, stronger phase of Ludvig, who’s already a tough boss to beat. The transformation is actually physical, when he gets bigger by consuming an imprisoned human using forbidden magic, and the whole thing just has a sweet, dramatic effect.

In the second phase, Awakened Ludvig gains deadly lightning combos. He teleports and forces you into an unwilling acceptance of trial and error. As always with all boss fights in Crimson Desert, stockpile lots of food. You’re going to need all the health boost you can get.
