5 Games You Should Play Before Redfall

Redfall is an upcoming cooperative FPS game that hopes to make waves in the AAA market. The game features players fighting against various types of vampires in order to save their town. Unfortunately, there isn't a ton of information out there about the game as of yet. But we have compiled everything that there is out there to make it easier for you to get your hands on this information. So without further ado, here is Redfall: Everything We Know.

Story

The story of Redfall appears to be quite compelling and will almost certainly please fans when the game finally releases. From what we can gather, the game hopes to put an emphasis on narrative throughout the game. This makes it differ quite a bit from titles that are too often happy just to give solid gameplay without much context. It will be fascinating to see what they come up with moving forward. Additionally, the game is going to consist of an open world that players are going to be able to explore. This will allow players to find their own way throughout the game, which is excellent for player agency.

The primary focus of the game's story seems to be leaning toward the vampires of the game. That is, how they came to be and how they are affecting the world of Redfall. However, there also appears to be a focus on the player character's themselves, which is great to see. Because not only are you having the player fight off these vampires, but you get to learn more about who you are playing in the process.

Gameplay

The gameplay of Redfall appears to be incredibly solid. From what we have been able to see throughout the released trailers. They show the player being able to work together alongside their AI teammates or other players in order to accomplish various goals throughout the game. This appears to be done in a way that is very smooth and intuitive. There also seems to be a range of enemy types, which will make them all the more fun to defeat when we finally get our hands on the game.

These appear not to be your average run-in-the-mill vampires, either. These vampires are also equipped with psychokinetic powers allowing them to perform a range of feats. An emphasis is also being placed on exploring the environment as well. This is sure to shake up gameplay and allow for more brave players to find rewards in tucked-away nooks and crannies. The game appears to have a rather massive arsenal to choose from in terms of weaponry. This is incredibly important to both gameplay variety and the gameplay loop of Redfall as a whole.

Development

The development of Redfall is well underway and appears to be in full swing for a 2023 release. This is fantastic, and the development team seems to be already sorting out the finer details of the game as well. The game allows players to tackle various challenges in any way that they choose. This is great as it offers an open-ended approach to gameplay, which will allow for more emergent gameplay.

There also appears to be a focus on the solo experience”, according to the developers, which is fantastic to see as well. So even if players do not have a dedicated group that they can play with, they will still be able to enjoy the game. The game also promises to build bonds through the characters during their time in the game. This is great as it allows for a more connected experience overall. All in all, the development of Redfall appears to be going smoothly. It will be very exciting to see the end product sometime in the near future.

Trailer

Within the Redfall trailer, we see a decent amount of combat with the vampires. As well as the highly detailed environmental design alluded to by the developers. There is quite a bit to unpack within these environments that help them stand out and feel real. We see quite a bit of gunplay as well as the amazing-looking particle effects for the vampires as one of them burst into flame. Through a wide panning shot, we see the town of Redfall in its previous glory. This is great for establishing a mood within the trailer.

The action continues to ramp up throughout the trailer. And gives players a sneak peek at what they can enjoy when the game releases. We see multiple playable characters' abilities and how they can be used in tandem. This is fantastic for teamplay and comes with some banter between the characters as well. All in all, the gameplay shown in this trailer appears to be very smooth and responsive. All of this adds up to make an experience that we cannot wait to get our hands on when the game releases.

Release Date Platforms & Editions

The most that we know regarding the release of Redfall is the editions in which it will be released. This comes coupled with the information regarding the platforms it will release on. As part of a launch exclusivity deal with Microsoft, Redfall will release first on the Xbox Series X|S. This will give the game a bit of time to grow on its home platform before hopefully heading to different platforms in the future. At the same time, there remains a lot to be answered. We look forward to learning more about this title as information comes out.

So to summarize, as of writing this, there is no solid release date for Redfall. And the only platform confirmed for a release is the Xbox Series X|S. Unfortunately, this means that players will have to wait until later this year at the earliest in order to get their hands on the title. So if you are looking forward to blasting away some vampires as much as we are, hopefully, there shouldn't be much longer to wait. Hopefully, the wait for this phenomenal title will seem short as we edge closer and closer to a release date.
