Super Mario Party Jamboree: Everything We Know

Nintendo is keeping the party going with yet another party game in the Super Mario franchise. Super Mario Party Jamboree is an exciting addition to the chaotic, whimsical fun that has you stepping in the shoes of your beloved Super Mario characters. The upcoming party game is set to expand a few features from its predecessor, Mario Party Superstars, and immerse you in another exhilarating experience poised to be the biggest game in the franchise yet. Curious to know more? Stick with us as we take a deep dive into Super Mario Party Jamboree: Everything We Know.

What is Super Mario Party Jamboree?

Mario

Super Mario Party Jamboree is an upcoming party game that takes the reins from Mario Party Superstars. It is a direct successor to Super Mario Party, which debuted in 2018. The title will be the thirteenth installment in the franchise to launch on home consoles and the eighteenth entry in the Mario Party series.

The upcoming title, which promises to be the biggest party game yet, has big shoes to fill. Especially considering the other party games that came before it. But so far, the game seems to be living up to this expectation, given the looks of its announcement trailer.

Despite being a successor to Super Mario Party, the tit; e's gameplay takes after Mario Party Superstars, with most boards in the previous game making a comeback in the new title.

Story

gorumbla

As a party game, Super Mario Party Jamboree isn't expected to feature a storyline. Like other games in the series, this upcoming title will focus primarily on multiplayer party games across various boards, packed with plenty of minigames. However, the series does have an overarching theme where Mario and his friends compete to determine who among them is the ultimate superstar. This friendly rivalry sets the stage for the exciting minigames that follow.

In terms of characters, Super Mario Party Jamboree will include both playable and non-playable characters. Fans can look forward to cameo appearances from beloved characters like Dragoneel, Chain Chomp, Boo, Rocky Wrench, Banzai Bill, Cheep Cheep, and Sushi. These familiar faces will add an extra layer of fun and nostalgia as players navigate the party boards and compete in minigames.

Gameplay

Marion and Luigi Brothership

Rolling back into action, Super Mario Party Jamboree promises wholesome fun with its varied content. This latest installment is shaping up to be the biggest game yet, doubling the number of characters. Returning favorites from Mario Party Superstars include Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Wario, Waluigi, Daisy, Yoshi, and Rosalina. Joining them are new additions like Bowser Jr., Shy Guy, and Monty Mole. However, Bowser's inclusion remains a mystery. While he appears alongside other characters in the trailer, his presence in the game is uncertain. The trailer shows Bowser's spaces on the boards, and given past experiences, Bowser is typically a non-playable character when these spaces are present. Additionally, Bowser's absence from the online mode's list of playable characters further fuels speculation. To compensate, the game introduces a new, adorable character, Ninji.

Now, onto the boards. Super Mario Party Jamboree will feature seven boards, with fan favorites like Mario's Rainbow Castle and Western Land making a return. New boards include King Bowser's Keep, Goomba Lagoon, Roll' Em Raceway, and Rainbow Galleria. Although the seven boards will be available for the standard party mode, rumors suggest more boards may be added in future updates.

Moreover, the title features an online mode where you can compete with up to 20 characters in a new mode called Koopathlon.

Finally, the game sticks to tradition with minigames. So far, developers have confirmed 110 games to launch with the upcoming title. This is by far the largest number of minigames in any Mario Party entry. Confirmed minigames include a racing minigame, golf, and traversing an obstacle course.

Development

Mario

Super Mario Party Jamboree is currently being developed by Nintendo. Since debuting the first Mario Party game on the Nintendo 64 in 1998 and 1999, Nintendo has continually pushed the envelope in creating engaging and exciting party games. While most Mario Party titles have graced home consoles, the series also ventured into the arcade scene in Japan and even explored the world of card games with 2003's Mario Party-e for the Nintendo e-Reader.

Nintendo's innovative spirit has led them to experiment with various game formats over the years. However, the classic party game formula, filled with thrilling minigames and competitive fun, truly resonates with fans. Super Mario Party Jamboree promises to capture that same magic, delivering a fresh yet familiar experience that will have players coming back for more. Whether you're a long-time fan or new to the series, this upcoming release is set to be a must-play. Join Mario and friends in what's sure to be the most exciting party yet as Nintendo continues its legacy of creating unforgettable gaming experiences. Get ready to party like never before.
