InZOI: Island Getaway — Everything We Know

Thankfully, InZOI: Island Gateway is a free DLC package that any gamer with the base game can quickly download without a fret. As the name suggests, the DLC will take you to an island lifestyle, where warm, sandy beaches await. You’ll undoubtedly be kicking your feet and soaking in the heat of the sun.

But you’ll also have tasks to do that keep your Zoi at their best. But what exactly does this free DLC package come with? Let’s find out in our InZOI: Island Gateway – Everything We Know article below.

What is InZOI: Island Getaway?

InZOI: Island Getaway — Everything We Know

InZOI: Island Gateway is a tropical-themed DLC package for the life simulation game, InZOI. It’s the first official DLC, aiming to expand on the base game. Thus, the core gameplay system will largely remain the same.

However, you’ll instead enjoy exploring new sunny areas, swimming and snorkeling in crystal-clear waters, exploring coral reefs, and more. You’ll be able to farm, mine, craft, and sell items to earn a living that turns your getaway into a luxurious vacation.

Story

Boat ride

The InZOI: Island Gateway adds the resort destination called the islands of Cahaya. It draws inspiration from the sunny tropics of Southeast Asia and comes with a ton of new features your Zois can get up to, as well as new customization options. This is a way to escape, to relax, slow down your normal lifestyle, and relieve any of the stress your Zoi may accumulate.

Cahaya is divided into three islands: the main one, where you make a quick buck farming, fishing, or mining, the resort island, where you go to relax, and the deserted island between the main and resort.

Think of all that you can do on a tropical island vacation, and most of it is likely featured in InZOI: Island Gateway

New Map

You can check in at a resort, where you’ll be staying during your time on the islands of Cahaya. And while your goal here is vacationing, leisurely spending your time at the beach and ocean, you’ll also engage your Zois in several activities to keep them busy.

Mostly, you’ll task your Zois with farming, mining, and crafting new items to sell. You need the extra income, which will help pay for all the fun activities you want to engage in on the islands. You can sell your farm produce at the local shop, and gradually increase your income enough to own it.

However, farming comes with its challenges, like floods, which can destroy your crops. Mining is also an alternative, which then helps you craft valuable items and tools. Overall, your time here can eventually become sustainable, and possibly to live off the islands’ fruits and rewards.

New Life Sim Features

With enough money, you can check into luxury villas and resorts on the islands. And here, you can go swimming, take spa days, bowling, or play at the arcade. In the outdoors, there’s lots to do, from snorkeling to diving underwater with the fish, dolphins, jellyfish, and even sharks. You’ll also explore coral reefs and discover ancient submerged cities and treasure.

It’ll require buying snorkeling and diving gear, though, maybe even renting a boat. What’s fun is teaching your Zoi to swim, taking them on practices regularly. Or, in the case of renting a boat, you can fish in the deeper waters or sunbathe out at sea.

All of the activities on the islands, as you can imagine, need money. So, having your Zoi work isn’t a bad idea. They can become a tour guide, lawyer, criminal, taxi driver, among other fun roles.

There’s so much more you can do at Cahaya, including the option to visit the cat temple, play with the cats, feed them, or meditate with them. It’ll depend on your Zoi’s interests and personality to determine the activities that will make them the happiest.

Customization

And of course, you have more customization options, themed to a tropical lifestyle, and ranging from outfits to hairstyles and decor.

Development

InZOI: Island Gateway comes from the same developer and publisher as the base game: inZOI Studio and KRAFTON Inc., respectively. InZOI was a booming success, so for the team to add a free DLC to keep gamers engaged and playing through fresh events is highly appreciated. The DLC does come loaded with lots of new features and things to do. However, the team plans to add even more content over time, including owning a pet.

The developers have been pretty diligent at listening to fans. They claim that “Cahaya was shaped by feedback from our players, going all the way back to Early Access launch earlier this year.” They pride themselves on developing the game together with the fans, and they add that, “we’re just getting started.”

Trailer

InZOI: Island Gateway’s official trailer launched at the Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025 event. And it came with all the best we could have hoped for. The graphics are so good and lifelike. And the interactions are like interacting with a real person in real life. Characters are much more expressive than before, and overall, the island lifestyle looks so inviting.

The actual DLC will likely be different in certain places, especially with the visible AI work in some scenes in the trailer. Still, I’m here for the island, tropical vibes, and all of the activities and cheeky stuff you can get up to. One scene shows a Zoi in jail. Wanna guess what they did?

Release Date, Platforms, & Editions

InZOI: Island Gateway was released on August 20, 2025, on PC and macOS platforms. It doesn’t have any editions, as it’s a free tropical-themed DLC for gamers who already own the inZOI base game.

It’s not over yet, for the DLC, with the developers promising future content. You can, thus, look forward to more expansions, which the developers plan to share sometime soon. The developers apparently have a long-term roadmap for inZOI, which you can definitely keep track of via the official social media handle.
