Fortnite: Best Weapons in Chapter 4, Season 1

As with any new Fortnite season, there is a great deal of anticipation surrounding the map changes and new wave of weapons. The case is no different in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1, which has introduced some new weapons to our loadouts, while also un-vaulting some fan favorites we're happy to see back in the lineup. Nonetheless, now that the dust has settled and the meta has been established, let's take a look at which weapons are ranking as the best in Fortnite Chapter Season 1.

6. Shockwave Hammer

New to Chapter 4 Season 1, the Shockwave hammer has proven to be one of the best weapons this season and an essential component in your loadout. Not only is it ideal for tearing down builds, but it doubles as a versatile weapon for movement. By charging it up and hitting the ground, you can propel yourself toward enemies after getting a few initial hits in with a ranged weapon. This allows you to keep the pressure on and shortens the window of time for opponents to recharge their shield and health as you push.

However, the best part about the Shockwave Hammer is carelessly battering opponents with it. Each hit deals powerful damage to enemies in close. But, be wary as each attack takes a few seconds to charge up, leaving you in a window of vulnerability. Nonetheless, due to its ability to propel you through the air and transition into a devastating strike, it's easily claimed a spot as one of the best weapons in Chapter 4 Season 1, and we hope to see it stick around.

5. Rocket Launcher

A fan-favorite weapon and staple we're excited to see back in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 is the Rocket Launcher. This is by far one of the best weapons in the game due to its pure destructive prowess. The Rocket Launcher can destroy any structure with ease, and surprise opponents who are fleeing or attempting to revive a teammate behind cover. In addition to its powerful demolition abilities, it has the ability to knock down players if directly hit. As a result, it's easily one of the best weapons this season, to no one's surprise, and somewhat of a cheat code.

One aspect to be cautious of with the Rocket Launcher is its ammo reserve. You can only carry 12 backup rockets; this may seem like a lot, but spamming them on enemies will quickly deplete it. That's why we recommend combining the Rocket Launcher with an assault rifle and shotgun, or sniper and shotgun. This allows you to have a good range while still being able to deal damage in close.

4. Twin Mag SMG

When it comes to close-quarters-combat in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1, there's no better option than the Twin Mag SMG. This is mainly due to its insanely high fire rate, damage per second, and to no surprise of its name, quick reload time. Nonetheless, you'll rely on this gun more than you think, especially to finish off enemies when they are near one shot.

The Twin Mag SMG is the current meta for SMGs and without question should be in your loadout. However, you will need a good variety in your setup if you're running this weapon, as its poor range only makes it effective up close. Still, if you're a player that likes to get in close and bring the fight to enemies, then the Twin Mag is perfectly paired with a shotgun (preferably the Thunder Shotgun). That way, you break enemies' shields with the shotgun, then finish them off with the SMG, or vice versa.

3. Thunder Shotgun

best weapons

Shotguns, once known as the best weapons in the game and the centerpiece of every loadout, have declined in popularity as a result of numerous tweaks and nerfs that have rendered them less desirable. Having said that, the Thunder Shotgun is still a viable option. And, when used correctly, one of the best weapons this season.

With the option to fire two rounds at once, you can expect insane damage that can one-shot targets. However, you must keep in mind that this shotgun doesn't have a quick reload, which exposes you to enemies if you're out of bullets. That's why you should have a reliable backup weapon to use in a pinch, such as the Twin Mag SMG. As a result, by pairing two of the best weapons in the game, you'll practically be unstoppable.

2. Assualt Rifle

best weapons

The Assault Rifle will always be one of the best weapons in every season due to how well-rounded it is. It features great range, accuracy, and damage, and can be relied on in close, medium, and long-range combat. Furthermore, the ammo is plentiful, so there is no need to worry about running low. Additionally, the slower fire rate of this rifle allows you to be more precise in hitting your shots.

Time and time again, the Assault Rifle proves to be one of the best weapons in the game. Moreover, the best part about using the Assault Rifle is that it pairs perfectly with any other weapon. This allows you to experiment with new guns because you know you can always turn to good old reliable when you're in a pinch.

1. Heavy Sniper Rifle

best weapons

One of Fortnites best and most powerful weapons has recently been un-vaulted and reintroduced into the game. Of course, we are talking about the Heavy Sniper. Without question, the Heavy Sniper is one of the best weapons in the game, feared by everyone except the shooter. This gun's unique feature is its ability to one-shot structures, from wood to metal. This is extremely useful to make a quick escape, keep the pressure on enemies, or set up a combo snipe if you're playing with a friend.

So, what's your take? Do you agree with our list? Are there other weapons you think are best in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1? Let us know in the comments below or over on our socials here!
