F1 22 Release Date, VR Support and More

F1 22 is available July 1st, 2022, on PC, PS4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S consoles

EA has announced a “new era” of gaming for its Formula 1 (F1) games. Notably, this new era EA mentions is talking about the inclusion of VR coming to F1 22. The game is being made compatible with VR on PC for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. If you didn't already feel like you were in the driver's seat before, in F1 22 VR, you certainly will.

If you're excited about the inaugural Miami Grand Prix in the 2022 F1 season, you may want to pre-order the game. As of right now if you pre-order the F1 22 Champions Edition, you will get the Miami-themed content pack and three-day early access release, before July 1st. Apart from pre-ordering, F1 22 contains a huge amount of additional content, that's if you're willing to wait.

Firstly, all the tracks in the game have been updated to correspond with all of the F1 2022's Grand Prix. So when in VR, it really feels like you're racing for Redbull, or the other not-so-good teams (Max Verstappen fan here).

Jokingly aside, regardless of your team, in-game racing for F1 22 has been redefined this year. A new handling model has been added to the game, simulating the fierce and strong handling that F1 cars have in wheel-to-wheel racing.

New race day options in F1 22 now let you “choose between immersive and broadcast-style Formation Laps, Safety Car Periods, and Pit Stops” as noted by EA in its blog post. Lastly, players now have a place to show off their supercars, apparel, accessories, and more with F1 Life. With all that said, there is surely more to come as the game is still a couple of months away, but one thing we know for sure is that we are in for a fully loaded F1 game this year.
