best games like Minecraft Legends

Mojang Studios gave the gaming world an incredible gift in Minecraft. The game debuted in 2011 and has grown to be a worldwide sensation. Much of its praise lies in its simple gameplay and creative tools that inspire creativity in gamers.

Now, Mojang Studios is back at it again with an exciting spinoff of the sandbox game. Minecraft Legends is an action strategy game set in the lush fields of Overworld. The peaceful world with bountiful resources and lush biomes is under threat of corruption by the ravaging piglins. It's up to you to protect your well-endowed world in rounds of epic battles by forming alliances with familiar faces. The game is set to launch on April 18, 2023, and is available for pre-purchase on Steam. But before then, how about we try games with a similar concept to improve your skills? Here are the best five games like Minecraft Legends.

5. Dungeon Defenders

Dungeon Defenders Trailer

Rally your troops; it's time to stage a battalion in Dungeon Defenders. Developed by Trendy Entertainment, this action RPG is also a tower defense game set in a fantasy world. Your role is to safeguard the Eternia Crystals from multiple enemies yearning to behold “the precious,” as Gollum puts it. The game lets you team up with four to six players on the honorable quest.

Suppose you're wondering why there are so many players. Well, the enemies come in waves. Each wave is stronger than the last. You'll battle ogres, kobolds, orcs, and other abominable creatures.

As guardians of the crystals, you get to select your avatar from one of the four classes; the Squire, the Apprentice, the Monk, and the Huntress. Each class has distinct skills and abilities. For instance, the Monk can summon auras while the Squire can raise a wall. Your goal is to survive each wave by summoning, upgrading, or maintaining towers to slow down the enemies. For a direct attack, players can use ranged or melee attacks. The exciting bit is the game's host can set the difficulty level. So you can either have a relaxed battle or go bonkers to protect the Eternia Crystal. But just know that the game can get devastatingly brutal.

4. Fire and Maneuver

Fire & Maneuver | Announcement Trailer

Fire and Maneuver takes you back to the Victorian Era in an epic Warframe game. Developed by Armchair History Interactive and Targon Studios, Fire and Maneuver is not your usual turn-based tactical game; it adds a bit of spice with its strategical technique. Moreover, the game recreates legendary historical battles by including true-to-life units.

Players step into the shoes of historical generals and issue orders to their troops. The game executes the orders in a strategic order as you issue them. Here's where the twist lies. First, the number of orders is limited in each turn. Also, the game executes the enemy's orders simultaneously with yours, accurately depicting what happens on the front lines- of battle—”no plan survives first contact with the enemy.”

Moreover, it's about more than just firing and hitting the most enemies. It would help if you were tactical about the orders you issued. While some may do the most damage, you must be cautious of your surroundings and decide what is critical. Like Minecraft Legends, strategy plays a hand in our victory.

3. Total War: WARHAMMER III

Total War: WARHAMMER III - Immortal Empires Launch Trailer

Total War: WARHAMMER III is the epic finale of the cataclysmic Total War: WARHAMMER trilogy. Developers went ham with this trilogy's conclusion, where the clash between the mortals and the chaos hits an all-time high. The turn-based strategy game puts an army in charge of fighting against AI-controlled foes. The reason for the battle is the capture of Ursun, a hairy member of your faction.

If you're a battle royale fan, you may be tempted to conquer the entire map, but this is beside the main objective. Your goal is to reach the opponent's prison and free Ursun. Moreover, the game's technique makes the battle more intriguing. After 30 turns, daemonic armies spawn at different locations on the map, luring mortals to different battle areas. Successfully defeat the armies, and you earn the prince's soul. The soul is your gateway to unlocking where the enemy has Ursun stashed.

Moreover, the strategy sandbox game lets you create an empire and choose which Legendary Lord to play as. You can also side with the evil faction and play as the Daemon Prince.

2. The Settlers: New Allies

The Settlers: New Allies - Launch Trailer

Brought to you by Ubisoft Düsseldorf, The Settlers: New Allies is a real-time strategy and combat game set in a medieval world. As a reboot of The Settlers series, players traverse new Islands searching for new habitation. Of course, you'll be faced with great opposition. You must then conquer the Islands before making them your abode.

But wait, it doesn't stop there. Other settlers are also yearning for a place to call home. This calls for proper defense strategies to secure your settlement against an invasion. To do so, you need to fight and conquer enemies. The game combines real-time strategic battles with an in-depth build-up experience. Players choose a faction from the three enlisted; Elari, Maru, and Jorn. Each faction has a distinct play style and compelling background.

If you need more than that to rope you in, the game features an open world. Which means you are free to traverse as you wish. So, witness your settlement grow thanks to the top-notch graphics, and brace yourself for impromptu battles.

1. STAR WARS Battlefront II

Star Wars Battlefront II: Official Gameplay Trailer

Unbeknownst to most people, the Star Wars franchise values its games more than its iconic movies. This is because the games provide more depth and are better at displaying the action. In another attempt to recreate the overarching story that details redemption from darkness, EA games bring you STAR WARS Battlefront II. Despite having an initial disastrous launch, the game has improved in every aspect. Also, a digital edition of the game, STAR WARS Battlefront II: Celebration Edition, is available, which gives you access to the game's customization.

Once again, players find themselves in a galaxy far, far away. The game's campaign story centers on the commander of Inferno Squad, Iden Version. This is an ideal mode for beginners to brush up on their combat skills. Alternatively, you can immerse yourself in the wealth of content the competitive multiplayer modes offer.

Regardless of which mode you choose, the game offers exciting, action-packed battles. You can be dogfighting in space, slicing up troops with lightsabers, or taking down foes with a blaster. Not to forget the mechanics behind the firing systems, which add a ton-load of realism. STAR WARS Battlefront II may play out differently than Minecraft Legends, but its tactical requirements will undoubtedly prepare you for the upcoming title.
