The upcoming Nintendo Switch RPG, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, will be getting new content as an Expansion Pass. The Expansion Pass will introduce a range of additional adventures, characters, and plot to the game in 2022 and 2023.

Nintendo and Monolith Soft announced the news during the Nintendo Direct devoted to the game. The presentation introduced the Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s Expansion Pass along with footage of challenging gameplay, new characters, and storylines.

The expansion pass will include four DLC waves. The first wave will be available alongside the game at launch. It will include new helpful accessories and some additional costumes for players to use. The costumes will be available in a variety of colours. The second DLC pack will consist of a “challenge battle mode” and a brand-new hero with new quests. Nintendo did not reveal the release date for the second wave. However, it will launch before the end of 2022. The third drop that will include a new Hero character, new quests, Challenge Battle, and new outfits will launch before April 30, 2023.

There’s a good chance that Xenoblade Chronicles 3‘s fourth and final downloadable content (DLC) will be the most interesting. This final expansion, due out before the end of 2023, will give the game a brand-new plot line to follow. Nintendo did not reveal more details on this DLC storyline content. However, it appears Xenoblade Chronicles 3‘s narrative will continue somehow.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Launch Dates

The expansion pass will launch alongside the game launch on July 29. Players can purchase the Expansion Pass at the cost of $29.99. Gamers must purchase the complete Expansion Pass to obtain any of these individual waves of downloadable content (DLC). The individual waves of DLC will not be sold separately.

Nintendo first announced Xenoblade Chronicles 3 during the February 2022 Nintendo Direct presentation. The game is a follow-up to 2017’s Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will launch exclusively for NintendoSwitch.
