5 Things We Want in Fall Guys 2

Fall Guys 2

Fall Guys is a battle royale-style arcade game that pits players against each other on a series of obstacle courses or mini-games, with each player scrambling to reach the finish line. Round by round the levels become increasingly difficult and players are knocked out until a final champion is crowned. Simply put, few games are as entertaining, rewarding, and challenging all at the same time. With that said, there is a lot of buzz and anticipation for a Fall Guys sequel, which would be dubbed Fall Guys 2, to arrive at some point in the future. When that does happen, these are the things we want to see in a Fall Guys sequel.

5. More Variety in Maps

Fall Guys 2

One of the best aspects of Fall Guys is the number of maps available, which currently totals 67. However, many of the maps feel like recycled ideas that have only undergone minor changes. Nothing is worse than starting a game and having the random map selection give you a course you've played to exhaustion. Not only doe's this take away from the fun, but it often leads to lobbies being abandoned by any players who know they aren't in for a fun challenge.

We'd like to see the maps and obstacle courses in Fall Guys 2 prioritize quality over quantity. For the most part, each map should have something that sets it apart from the others. Surely, the game would benefit from a new map rollout each season, which, to be fair, it does, however, it would also be nice to see the retirement of some tried and true maps. We hope to see this in Fall Guys 2 because it would not only keep the game fresh, but it would also maintain the fun and exhilarating experience that comes from trying new or more difficult maps.

4. Let's Hype Up The Soundtrack

Fall Guys 2

Fall Guys nails the soundtrack, which contributes to the game's longevity by keeping you engaged and immersed in the content. The only thing we dislike about music is its monotony. Though the music is ideal for arcade-style gameplay, we'd like to hear more soundtracks in Fall Guys 2; to be honest, there aren't too many songs the game sifts through. Ideally, each map should have its own soundtrack that provides the same level of head bobbing that it currently does.

Rhythm-based maps, in addition to a broader soundtrack, would be a godsend. From music that syncs up with precisely timed jumps to beat switches that change alongside when a platform turns. Additionally, as each level becomes faster and more difficult, the song accelerates to match the intensity. We believe this could greatly benefit the gameplay in a Fall Guys sequel, and it is evidently something we would like to see in Fall Guys 2.

3. Competitive Play

Fall Guys 2

Fall Guys is a fun casual game that is great for passing the time or playing with friends. While there is always a competitive angle in any game, this is not the case with Fall Guys because many of the “tournaments” are only for streamers. Opening a competitive mode allows you to pit your skills against others who are curious about their position on the ladder. We believe that this should be a separate mode that does not affect casual matchmaking. But, by incorporating “skill” based matchmaking, casual play can feel more competitive if you only queue up against opponents of the same level or higher.

Competitive would fit in perfectly by resetting ranks after each season. This would provide a nice reset for players to jump back in on the action for a new season. There could also be rank-specific items If you enjoy exclusive cosmetics to boost your image in front of others. Take it with a grain of salt, but we know there are some die-hard Fall Guys players who'd love to see the addition of competitive play in Fall Guys 2. Plus, it would, it would be a great way to turn the challenge dial up a notch.

2. More, More, and More Skins

Cosmetic items are always a touchy subject in free-to-play games; you either love them or despise them. We definitely enjoy them and would like to see more unique items make their way into Fall Guys 2 to broaden the variety of what you see other players wearing. Especially considering the only way to express yourself in Fall Guys is through your appearance. And while there are many skins to choose from, we feel that many of them are too generic and basic. This is unavoidable in any game that has a list of cosmetics, and to be fair, Fall Guys has done a good job of improving the various cosmetic items available for unlocking or purchasing.

If you don't like microtransactions in games, that's fine because Fall Guys have a ton of free items to earn.  However, there are still a lot of angles they have yet to hit for free skins. For example, a golden skin that is awarded when you first get crowned champion. The addition of new unique free skins, such as the golden ones, would be fantastic to see in Fall Guys 2.

1. Mobile Play

To be honest, we're shocked Fall Guys isn't available on mobile yet. Given that this game is already available on every console, it stands to reason that mobile is the next frontier for them to explore. Needless to say, the arcade style makes it ideal for mobile play, not to mention the controls are easily transferable. There are reports of Fall Guys mobile being developed in China, however, that's still in development and there hasn't been any update as of late on its status. So, it's most likely a while before we see it arrive on mobile here overseas.
