Silver Palace: Everything We Know

Silver Palace is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing action role-playing games on the horizon. Fans of the genre have something to look forward to with the recent announcement of Silver Palace, the debut title from Singapore-based developer-publisher Elementa. As a first venture, Silver Palace sets a bold tone for the studio, presenting an ambitious project that seeks to blend narrative depth with high-octane gameplay. Let’s explore everything we know about the game.

What is Silver Palace?

What is Silver Palace?

Forget the indie video game developer Silver Studio Games that created Witch Trainer Silver. Silver Studio is currently responsible for the Silver Palace frenzy, cutting across video game fans. So, what’s in it, and is it worth the hype? Silver Palace is an upcoming title announced by the Singapore-based publisher, Elements. It’s a creation of Silver Studio, a separate entity and game developer from Silver Studio Games. It is the first major game for Silver Studios, designed as an anime-based action role-playing game

Story

Story

Silver Palace is in a thriving metropolis’s fantasy world featuring a Victorian aesthetic. The captivating story unfolds in an intricate art style world with a prosperity owed to a precious element, the Silverium. After the discovery of the valuable element, it became the key to the industrialization of Silvernia. It was the vehicle of transformation of the metropolis’ technology and the life the residents lived beyond imagination. The city attracted more residents and innovation, transforming into a hub for innovation and monetization of the resource, all under the metropolis’s administration’s governance.

However, more factions began to contest for the control of Silverium, resulting in tensions across the city. From the people affiliated with the royals to powerful syndicates and corporate monopolies. They all want to harness the power of Silverium, resulting in syndicates of crime and cults. Now, play the detective and solve the puzzle behind Silvernia and the mysteries of Silverium.

Gameplay

Gameplay

Gameplay on the anime-inspired Silver Palace unfolds in third-person shooter and melee combat. You will enter and explore the sprawling world of Silvernia with your teammates in a quest for truth. Don’t expect any blood or gore elements in Silver Palace. You play the good detective with the task ahead of investigating criminal activities and unraveling the underlying truths. You will take on the adventure through the colorful city, full of life, while solving mysteries along the way.

You’re not facing this journey alone. Throughout your adventure, you’ll team up with a diverse cast of characters, tackling missions side by side and facing off against mysterious enemies together. Early on, you’ll explore the city on foot, but soon gain access to a mechanical horse that unlocks various traversal options, drift through streets, soar through the air, or ride freely across vast areas, all from horseback. The horse itself is fully upgradeable, with customizable parts like enhanced hooves to boost its performance.

Execute attacks on enemies using stealth to ambush unsuspecting foes. However, beware of enemies posing as civilians. These foes will unleash combat upon suspecting they have been discovered. You also have QTEs appearing during the boss fights. The solid combat system allows you to switch characters at any time and even perform a chain of QTEs. Additionally, you will have a set of powers that help you unleash stunts like grabbing cats and having them hover in the air. Face the different factions of cultists, underground criminals, and corporate powerhouses. Investigate crime scenes and gather hints that help you uncover the city’s mysteries.

Development

Elementa, a Singapore-based video game publisher, and Silver Studio announced the upcoming title Silver Palace on May 12. The game only came along with an announcement trailer, with few details about its development. Until now, it’s unclear when development began, although it is the first major game from Silver Studio.

The game is built on Unreal Engine 5 and features anime-style characters with Victorian aesthetics and a flexible combat system. Players can explore the sprawling fantasy world as they follow the unfolding mythical story.

Silver Studio and Elementa decided to reveal much about the game in real action rather than describe the gameplay. The team released an announcement trailer for the ARPG game and a nearly 11-minute video showcasing Silver Palace’s gameplay. In the trailer, you can see the detective who had left the city return to Silvernia and begin exploring the city. A non-player character is seen explaining the situation of the city to the detective.

“We have a big case on our hands. Dozens are dead, burned to ashes. You may be the best detective.” “But Silvernia isn’t the best city there is.” “The city is like liquid silver, always changing. What is true might not always stay true, sin and evil stalk the city like a stubborn shadow.”

After the conversation, the gameplay begins with the detective declaring she needs an assistant. An NPC appears for the interview and apparently gets onboard, and the action begins. Watch the detective and her assistant traverse the city, taking down unknown enemies. You can see them explore the city in a car, strike enemies with swords, smash them to the ground, and twist their necks to kill. The detective quickly shifts to a horse, flying across the city.

You can tell Silver Palace has fast-paced gameplay, as its gore features a fire or burning theme rather than blood. You can check the gameplay showcase video for a more detailed peek into the game’s graphics, characters, environments, and combat.
