Shadow Warrior 3 Released, Is It Worth the Purchase?

Updated on

Over the years, it's become a frequent occurrence that March is jam-packed with new games. Maybe it's something in the spring air that's attracting all these new titles out of hiding. Regardless, one we've been keeping our eye on for March is Shadow Warrior 3. The game has just been released today and is already a top seller on Steam.

Shadow Warrior 3 is an arena shooter featuring roughly an eight-hour campaign filled with nonstop full-throttle action. The Launch Trailer debuted this morning alongside the release, and if the game is half as entertaining as the trailer we are in for a treat.

Gameplay & Playstyle

The game's playstyle draws very similar ties to Doom and Doom Eternal. By that, I mean that you walk into each level trying to cause as much chaos and carnage as possible. But it isn't as simple as just marching into battle guns blazing. I mean, it can be if you want, but the game has a lot more to offer with its movement.

You can air dash, wall-run, and double jump your way about the battlefield. There is even a grappling hook that will let you swing across the map and land on enemies. The mobility gives you a lot of options when it comes to picking fights and is a key part of the game's electrifying, fast-paced action. Did I mention it also pairs great with the Katana?

But it feels like there is just one thing missing to round off Shadow Warrior 3. That's right, magnificently brutal and epically executed finishing moves. In a true Doom-like fashion, you can utterly eliminate your opponent with a variety of finisher moves. They are, after all, essential to a game of this style.

If you're searching for a game that won't make you utilize any parts of your brain and will let you release some of that bottled-up rage, pick up Shadow Warrior 3. Without a doubt, any type of gamer will get enjoyment out of this fun-to-play arena shooter, and definitely feel it is worth the purchase.
