Nintendo should reboot more games. After all, they have a roster of famous titles that could be reimagined for the modern era. This would be great because these titles have a rather transcendent quality. After all, the gameplay within them is so solid. Along the way, however, a few franchises have fallen by the wayside. It would be fantastic if Nintendo gave these games another look-over. So without further ado, here are our picks for the 5 Nintendo Franchises That Need Rebooting

5. F-Zero

F-Zero is an iconic franchise of futuristic racing games from the SNES era of gaming. Players are tasked with finishing races. They will have to dodge many different obstacles in their path in order to do so. The game allows players to be able to use their high speed to their advantage and avoid certain pitfalls. The game features a wide array of landscapes to race over, which is great for replayability. Players are able to tune their cars to perform the best in several situations. Additionally, there are multiple tracks that players could play through, which would add to the variety of the gameplay.

The game franchise has not seen a title in it since 2004. So it would be great if they could develop one and allow eager F-Zero fans a chance to let their hearts race once again. There are many different reasons as to why players would want to play this title again. This would make a reboot of the series a no-brainer for Nintendo, as it would be immensely popular, especially with the popularity of racing titles currently.

4. Donkey Kong Country

Donkey Kong Country is a game that many players will remember from childhood. The game was a platformer starring the titular Donkey Kong. The game Donkey Kong Country was released to great success during its time. This means that if there were a reboot to be developed, then it would sell rather well. Players could go through the game's 40 levels, each of which could be beautifully restored in the reboot. In addition, the amount of graphical fidelity that could be applied to these jungle environments is immense.

Being considered by many to be one of the greatest games of all time, Donkey Kong Country would be a fantastic game to reimagine for modern gaming. In addition, the levels have a remarkable level of variety in their levels. The development of a reboot would make a lot of sense, given how iconic the Donkey Kong character has become. This would give a new generation of fans a chance to experience a game that is beloved by millions. To close, Donkey Kong Country is a game that, due to its design, could easily be updated for modern tastes.

3. Earthbound

Earthbound is a game that would go on to influence many others. The game would also later feature its main character Ness in Super Mario Smash Bros Melee. In addition, the game is one that has a lot of traditional RPG mechanics within it that would make it fantastic for players who harken back to those games. Different attacks can do a number of things to your opponents within the game as well. The music in the game is also an essential part of the game's legacy. It would be intriguing to see what they would do with a current version.

Earthbound enjoys a huge cult classic status and would be great for a reboot. The reboot would also have a lot of material to pull from, considering that so much has changed in the RPG gaming space since Earthbound's initial release. It would be very interesting to see both what the writers and designers do with all the modern references they can pull from. So in closing,  Earthbound would be a fantastic title for Nintendo to reboot for the modern era as it will be able to introduce many different fans to the franchise and likely be held in high regard.

2. Paper Mario

Paper Mario The Thousand-Year Door

Paper Mario is a game that many players would enjoy if it returned. A reboot of the game would no doubt sell really well, especially given the current interest in the Super Mario franchisePlayers would be able to enjoy all the humor and fantastic gameplay of this game only on modern consoles. This would give the developers more power to either add more content or improve existing content to the game. For example, players would be able to interact with more objects in the world with the power of modern consoles, which would have been rather difficult for the game in the past.

Players would be able to use their interactions with the game world and NPCs to progress throughout the game. This could be more fleshed out in a reboot of the series. While it would be interesting to see the same techniques that are applied in other 3D Mario games applied to Paper Mario, there is no doubt fans of the series would love to see it happen. The level of perfection that must be attained in order to complete a difficult platforming game is apparent with titles such as Crash Bandicoot The N Sane Trilogy.

In conclusion, Nintendo would do well with an Ice Climbers reboot as it will allow them to reinvent the characters for the modern era and introduce them to a whole new audience.
