Hogwarts Legacy Could Be Knocked Back to 2023

Hogwarts Legacy could be facing another lengthy delay, according to Sacred Symbols host Colin Moriarty.

During a PlayStation podcast, Moriarty commented on the game’s development, specifically the spot of bother it’s supposedly in. According to the renowned industry insider, Hogwarts Legacy is “in some sort of trouble,” and that it “isn’t coming coming out this year.”

Although nothing else was mentioned during the podcast, it did strike mass confusion from fans all over the globe. What was originally set to launch back in 2021 eventually transpired into 2022. And now, if what Moriarty is saying is true, then it could mean another year of waiting before we finally get to see the beloved school of Witchcraft and Wizardry with our own eyes.

Where’s the Room or Requirement when you need it, eh?

Should Avalanche Software have the power to summon the Room of Requirement, then now would probably be the best time to use it. Both Harry Potter fans and role-playing fanatics are hungering for their acceptance letters, straight up. But looking at what’s popped out of the blue, it could mean students will have to take a gap year before picking up the prospectus at all.

Of course, it’s always worth taking these claims with a grain of salt. Seeing as Avalanche Software has yet to confirm it, it isn’t worth losing all hope just yet. Either way, we’ll have to wait and see what pours out of the studio doors over the coming months. Perhaps E3 will shed more light on the project? Only time will tell.

Hogwarts Legacy is set to release on Xbox, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. You can follow the updates for the game over on the official social handle here. Or, if you want to tap into the source, then you can tune in to Moriarty’s podcast here.
