All Weapons in Halo: Campaign Evolved, Ranked
You only have two slots for your Halo: Campaign Evolved loadout, which is tricky because there are a whopping 17 weapons to choose from. I’d recommend the Energy Sword for one-strike kills of enemies you run into, the Sentinel Beam for shredding through energy shields, and switching it up with the Assault Rifle and Sniper Rifle for precise, long-range, rapid-fire shots. But do stick around to see how I would rank all the weapons in Halo: Campaign Evolved.
17. Plasma Rifle
First (FUNC ) off is the Plasma Rifle, the standard one, before you can upgrade it to the Brute Plasma Rifle. Still, it offers a decent melee to medium–range service, firing rapidly at enemies, and breaking down their energy shields with more ease.
16. Submachine Gun
I know it’s strange to rank a Submachine Gun so low among all weapons in Halo: Campaign Evolved, ranked. You still enjoy the SMG’s signature rapid fire rate, which drains enemies’ health bars quicker at close-range. But you’ll find yourself ditching it when enemies stray too far away.
15. Battle Rifle
Which is where the Battle Rifle comes in for medium to long-range combat. Moreover, the burst damage is pretty good, cutting through armor easily, though at the expense of taking precise shots.
14. Magnum
And that precision problem is solved by the Magnum pistol. It’ll finish the job easily with a slick headshot, even from a distance.
13. Brute Plasma Rifle
Next up is the better version of the Plasma Rifle, called the Brute Plasma Rifle. This upgrade is a new weapon added to Halo: Campaign Evolved, and doesn’t disappoint in firing faster and inflicting more damage.
12. Type-25 DEP Plasma Pistol
For a step up above the Magnum, try out the Plasma Pistol. This specializes in breaking down the energy shields of those annoying Covenant soldiers. However, you’ll need to charge the shots and fire from close range.
11. Beam Rifle
Might as well call the Beam Rifle a sniper, thriving in taking long-range shots at enemies you want to pick off one by one. The accuracy is pretty good, although not as good as the high-ranking Sniper Rifle among all weapons in Halo: Campaign Evolved, ranked.
10. Needler
Fan-favorite Needler weapon returns in Halo: Campaign Evolved, still giving enemies a hard time when it tracks and explodes on them where they stand. Think of it like a homing missile that you can use for crowd control, thanks to a considerable burst damage on impact.
9. Fuel Rod Gun
While we’re on explosions, another powerful projectile you can mail to enemies is from the Fuel Rod Gun. You haul the cannon-like gun onto your shoulder and let loose a fuel rod projectile on nearby enemies.
Unlike the Needler, the fuel rod unleashes more damage. Plus, the impact has a larger area-of-effect, which is great for taking out multiple enemies at once. Careful, though, as the fuel rod can take its sweet time before actually hitting targets. And so, you have to keep enemies busy or fire from a safe distance.
8. Rocket Launcher
And another favorite of all weapons in Halo: Campaign Evolved, ranked, is the Rocket Launcher. The problem with the Rocket Launcher is that you only have a few rockets you can fire, which makes sense given the massive scale of damage a single rocket can cause.
This is the weapon that you use against enemies with impenetrable shields. Or at vehicles that won’t let you catch a break. You can fire one rocket after another, with a cap of two at a time, but the precision and impact are totally worth it.
7. Assault Rifle
What’s a first-person shooter game without an assault rifle? The one in Halo: Campaign Evolved isn’t too bad. You shouldn’t have any trouble acquiring it. It fires rapidly, as it should, at multiple enemies coming at you all at once. The bullet spray is a lifesaver, but it does need some control over it, at least if you’re to continue enjoying its accuracy.
While the classic weapons retained from Halo: Combat Evolved look and feel the same way, you might notice some slight tweaks to the actual shooting mechanics. The ability to aim down sights helps you shoot enemies more accurately. And this gels well with the Assault Rifle’s ability to still shoot quick bursts, even when you’re adjusting your aim.
6. Shotgun
I love a shotgun, even though it can take a bit to master. Once you do, though, one shot is powerful enough that it’ll drain an enemy’s health bar so quickly, including those relentless Flood monsters. The enemy has to be close to you, of course, and if they are too far away, the impact of each shot won’t be as significant.
5. Needle Rifle
The Needle Rifle is simply a marksman gun. So, you know the precision will be at least decent. I appreciate how it can adapt to use cases, whether enemies are close or far away. Plus, it can fire multiple rounds pretty fast and builds up to a spectacular explosion.
Interestingly, the bullets can track enemies, too. They are like homing projectiles, which will explode a few seconds after impact.
4. Spiker
The next gun of all weapons in Halo: Campaign Evolved, ranked, you want in your loadout is the Spiker. As the name suggests, it shoots piercing shards instead of bullets. The sound firing the Spiker makes, in itself, is mad aggressive, and so is the animation more violent than before. But the shards are also brutal, easily cutting through flesh, weak and strong enemies alike.
3. Sentinel Beam
For your energy laser gun, try out the Sentinel Beam. It fires a continuous beam, which breaks down enemy shields. This weapon doesn’t need precision. It just fires ahead, shredding through whoever is caught in its way.
2. Energy Sword
At close range, you may want the Energy Sword in your arsenal. It’s a sharp blade on both sides, and quickly takes out enemies with just one slash.
1. Sniper Rifle
And my personal favorite of all weapons in Halo: Campaign: Evolved, ranked, for picking off enemies one by one from afar. What sets it apart is how precise your shots can be when you can magnify your target several times over and take out enemies with just a single shot.
