Sony Unveil New InZone Gaming Monitors and Headsets

Updated on
Sony InZone

Sony is stepping outside PlayStations boundaries and into PC with the unveiling of their new hardware brand, InZone. The new line of gaming gear is headlined by Sony Electronics and will focus on headphones and monitors for the PS5 however, more strongly emphasized for PC. Three headphone models and two gaming monitors make up InZone's debut products. And while the specs look to rival competitors the design does not. It is more of the black and white PS5 hues, which is very monotonous.

The three gaming headset versions are the H3, H7, and H9, with prices ranging from $99 for the entry-level model to $299 for the higher-end variant. Then there's the lower-end M3 monitor for $529, and the higher-end M9 display, which cost an eye-watering $899. Despite the outrageously high prices, there is evidence to back up the headphones and monitors tag, which we explore further below if you're interested in their technical specifications.

Sony InZone Tech Specs

It seems like more than a perfect time for Sony to dive into PC as more of Sony's PlayStations exclusive move to PC. InZone seems to be riding off this wave, with hopes to make its stamp on PC gaming. Well, let's see if the tech specs reflect that.

Headphones

The H-series of headphones debuting for the Inzone are the H3, H7, and H9. All three headsets are compatible with PC and PS5 and will feature 360-degree spatial audio. And all the spotlight seems to be falling on the H9 headset. It's looking to rival other wireless gaming headphones by handling both 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth connections simultaneously.

The H3 is the only wired headset of the bunch, with some weaker design and comfort settings to suit its low price. The H7 and H9 are both wireless headphones, with the H7 being the less expensive alternative. The only major difference between the two is that the H7 won't feature noise cancellation.

Monitors

The flagship M9 is a 27-inch 4K IPS gaming monitor, featuring a 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and sans OLED panel. Furthermore, the monitor will have full-array local dimming and DispalyHDR 600. Additionally, it will have connectivity options of Display Port 1.4 a 2x HDMI 2.1 ports, and USB-C. The lower-end M3 monitor comes without full-array local dimming and drops to 1080p and DispalyHDR400. However, it is seeing an increased refresh rate of 240 Hz.
