Console users might’ve been arguing over which next-gen console performs better overall these past couple of months, but reports are clearly stating that certain titles are better played on one or the other. Hitman 3, to be more precise, has been scrutinised down to a tee on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. And, well — it turns out that the XSX has the leg up on the competition with this one.
After reports have come flooding in by gamers and critics alike, all of the core mechanics have been analysed side-by-side. After cross-checking the two next-gen consoles, reports confirmed that Hitman 3 performs well above par on the Microsoft kit. With the ability to run at a native 4K compared to the PS5’s 1800p, Hitman 3 is clearly cutting just a little closer to perfection. Of course, we’re not here to slate the PlayStation 5’s iteration of the instant-hit, as it is evidently phenomenal on both consoles. However, in terms of resolution and other secondary visuals — Xbox Series X is punching just a little higher.
Hitman 3 is one of the biggest next-gen games to launch since the release of the two rival consoles. Admittedly, it looks fantastic overall, but if we had to put our money on one faction — it’d have to be XSX. Either way, we can’t fault the development behind the long-standing series. Even after decades of chart-topping, IO Interactive are still bringing it every time.
Hitman 3 is available on Xbox One/Series X/S, PlayStation 4/5, Nintendo Switch and Windows. You can pick up your PC copy via Epic Games here. Happy hunting!
