Head of Xbox Phil Spencer Sheds Light on Fable 4

Fable

It’s been a week since E3 closed its curtain, and people are still skipping rocks over the thought of seeing a Fable 4 update. The problem is, sadly, neither Xbox nor the gaming expo set any date for the next wave of news, meaning the hunt for answers frustratingly continues to spiral into false hopes and loose promises.

Having said that, Dropped Frames did manage to extract a chunk of news regarding the sequel during its latest podcast with Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer. Of course, as far as technicalities go — most details were kept under wraps. However, Spencer did go on to reassure fans of the franchise, stating people should “take confidence” in the minds behind the project.

Phil Spencer shed light on Fable 4…

“The only thing I can really say about Fable is, seeing the pedigree of the team and Playground, and where they set the bar for themselves in building a game—I think that showed with the Forza Horizon 5 preview that they had—I think people should just take confidence in that Gavin [Raeburn] and the team there have that same level of focus on doing something amazing with an IP that we know is really important to a lot of Xbox fans, so we can’t wait to get to show more, but the team is just amazing.”

Granted, it wasn’t the lump of secrets we all wanted to hear — but it was an update worth tuning in for at least. Of course, the takeaway from the discussion is that Fable is well underway, with some truly remarkable minds to bolster the operation. Apart from that, both Xbox and Playground Games continue to cloak their works with cryptic updates and corkscrewed lips. Still, here’s hoping the next batch of news rolls in before the year is out.

Fable 4 will release on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
