EA Sports PGA Tour Will Be Next-Gen and PC Exclusive
EA Sports are finally coming out of the wickets and releasing PGA Tour, their first Golf game since Rory McIlroy PGA Tour in 2015. This game will of course be looking to compete with 2K's PGA Tour series, which has its next annual release, PGA Tour 2K23, dropping on October 14th of this month. However, it will be tough to compete after EA Sports announced this week that EA Sports PGA Tour will not be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or even Nintendo Switch.
Instead, EA Sports PGA Tour will be exclusive for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC when it releases in Spring 2023. This will undoubtedly be upsetting for golf fans who simply enjoy the game on whatever console is most convenient. And, even two years after their release, next-generation consoles are still difficult to obtain due to high demand. This will certainly be frustrating for players eager for the game but are now lacking the console to do so. Regardless of the matter, we got a teaser trailer for the game, that you can check out below.
EA Sports PGA Tour Teaser Trailer Highlights
Of course, the highlight of this trailer is Augusta National Golf Club. This course is the homestead for the Masters, to which EA Sports now has exclusive rights in video games. This course alone will bring a lot of players into the game, but there are also other prominent ones such as Pebble Beach, and Torrey Pines. Alongside gaining rights to the Masters, EA Sports PGA Tour will also include the other three Golf majors alongside it. That includes the U.S. Open Championship, The Open Championship, and the U.S. PGA Championship. Not to mention the FedExCup Playoffs as well.
The game will also feature LPGA events and, hopefully, many renowned golfers to play as. With the exception of the players who have joined LIV. This is a new golf league in Saudi Arabia that has recently been heavily competing with the PGA by converting many of its players over. However, we do know that Tiger Woods will not be appearing on EA Sports PGA Tour. Instead, he appears on the cover of 2K's PGA Tour 2K23.
