Bully 2 Could Be Rockstar’s Next Revival, According to Insider

Bully 2 remains one of Rockstar's most elusive titles of all time, yet fans' hunger for the sequel is alive and kicking more than ever before.

It's no secret that Rockstar Games' Bully 2 is in high demand. Unfortunately, though, with far more ambitious projects forever claiming the entirety of the workforce, it's becoming increasingly unlikely that the sequel will never come at all. Or at least, not for a fair few years, anyway.

There is a silver lining here, though. That said, when it comes in the form of an inside rumor, you can pretty much always take it with a grain of salt. But if we are to go on what Rockstar Games insider Tez2 is saying, then the long-awaited sequel to Jimmy Hopkins' tale will conclude after the release of Grand Theft Auto 6. Now, providing GTA 6 releases sometime between 2024 and 2026, this could put Bully 2 somewhere on the 2027 slate.

Red Dead Redemption Replaced Bully 2, Then?

What makes this a tougher pill to swallow than most rumors is that Bully 2 was once in development. According to the inside rumors that surfaced a few years back, Rockstar Games was working on both Bully 2 and Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2017, with the latter half receiving the lion's share of the developer's arsenal. Due to an ultimatum, though, Rockstar had to full throttle one project, and ultimately sacrifice another. Long story short, Bully 2 had a pin put in it, and Red Dead went on to become the best-selling game of 2018.

The good news is, prior to Rockstar pulling the plug on the project, Bully 2 did undergo two years worth of pre-production work, meaning the assets are still archived for future use. Therefore, if Rockstar was to follow up with any IP after the release of Grand Theft Auto 6, it'd probably be this one. Until Rockstar confirms this, though, it's best to keep it as a pipe dream and nothing more.

So, what's your take? Do you think Rockstar Games will turn to Bully at any point in the future? Let us know over on our socials here or down in the comments below.
