Animal Crossing: New Horizons Encyclopedia En Route!

Updated on

What was that? You wanted to learn more about the fish that call Animal Crossing: New Horizons home? Well, you're in luck.

Nintendo may have bowed out of Animal Crossing: New Horizons in regards to publishing new content, but other third-party firms are continuing to wave the torch with pride. Consequently, it seems as though an encyclopedia, a book that documents all of the species found around New Horizons, will, in fact, be coming our way in the near future.

Spotted over on Twitter, the book will feature an in-depth passage on all 235 species in New Horizons. Furthermore, the encyclopedia will also launch with an exclusive 57-minute DVD. Combined, the Kodansha-published collection will feature just about every detail there is to know on the critters that populate the beloved island.

That's the tip of the iceberg, anyway. Further reading suggests that the book will also act as a guide on how to acquire all of the rare types of fish and bugs. So, a pocket guide for anyone looking to max out the museum and empty the seas of all its boots and bottles, you could say.

Hold your horses!

The sad news to all of this is that, well, it's a Japanese deal. By that, it means anyone outside of Japan won't be able to pick either the book or the DVD up. Though, considering how popular Animal Crossing: New Horizons is, it wouldn't surprise us if it did go on to have a global release in the distant future. But as it stands, only a certain collective will have access to the items.

Anyway, letting bygones be bygones, we're just glad to see New Horizons still harnessing a healthy amount of attention.

So, what's your take? Will you be picking up the encyclopedia when it releases? Let us know over on our socials here or down in the comments below.
