Stray is a unique game that has taken Sony fans by storm. The game puts you into the paws of a cute cat. Notably, this adorable feline isn't anything special. They are just a regular cat. You make your way through a tech-filled city, trying to find your way home. On your adventure, you must use your cat's abilities to navigate around obstacles and find comfortable places to nap. If you have already beaten Stray, or can't currently play it on your platform, then you're likely looking for a game to feel the hole in your heart. Untitled Goose Game takes the lets you play as animals narrative and makes it petty. As a goose, who has been set loose on a poor unsuspecting community, you have one goal. You are there to be as annoying as possible to everyone around you. You can use your honking powers to scare local residents or find a variety of other ways to make a mess. As the goose, you hold power over those around you. The peace of their daily lives sits in your hands, and you are going to ensure it's disturbed.

Best of all, you can team up with a friend to be twice as annoying. This means that there is double the goose to go around as you progress through the levels of the game. Of course, you do need to do things like solve puzzles to win the game. Unsurprisingly, this is also done through just being a petty goose.

Maneater is the violent side of the let you play as animals side of gaming. In this game, you play through the life of a scorned shark. You start as a baby after your mother is brutally slain. The only thing on your mind is getting revenge on those who killed your family. To do this, you must consume and complete missions to grow stronger and acquire new powers such as electic fins. This is all in the day's work of a growing shark boy, though, especially when you begin to snack on humans.

The gameplay of Maneater is unique in that all of it takes place underwater. While you can leap on land for some quick fleshy snacks, you must quickly wiggle your way back to the sea. There are also boss fights with shark hunters that are quite interesting. If you are looking for a shorter game, but want a bit of action, then Maneater is a great choice.

 

2. Okami

Okami is so beloved that an HD port was made so players could play the game on current-gen consoles. In the game, you play as Amaterasu the Sun Goddess and go on an adventure to stop a demon named Orochi. The game has a very distinct art style reminiscent of classical Japanese paintings. The combat is also intresting as you play through everything in animal form. This strange style of gameplay, combined with the excellent visuals and storytelling, helped Okami rise to fame.

This is one of the longest games on the list and is perfect for players looking for a full experience. This is one of the standouts among games that let you play as animals because it's not short or placed around gimmicks such as destruction. It's easy to get pulled into the story and world of Okami.
