Rockstar’s Bully Gets Fan-Made Remake Using Unreal Engine 5

Rockstar's forgotten child, Bully, has finally received a remake using Unreal Engine 5. The problem is, well… it's fan-made.

One of the toughest pills to swallow is knowing that Bully, in spite of fans forever badgering Rockstar to remake it, will probably never happen. Or at least, it won't be an official release, anyway. That being said, there is a consolation prize for fans of the rebellious action-adventure classic. Although not exactly endorsed by Rockstar Games, the fact is, Bully has been remade using Unreal Engine 5. And honestly, as far as realistic remakes go, TeaserPlay has hit the nail bang on the head.

Of course, there are a few minor issues that OG fans raised regarding the facial animations and what have you, but other than that, the recently released fan-made concept trailer knocked it out of the park. In fact, it's oddly bittersweet, as it's a look through a door that, in reality, we'll probably never get the opportunity to enter. Nevertheless, it's a breath of fresh air, and one we could all use right about now, what with Rockstar being preoccupied with grinding Grand Theft Auto down to the bone.

Where art thou, Bully?

Unfortunately, Bully hasn't seen the light of day since Scholarship Edition came to pass back in 2008. Since then, fans have basically begged Rockstar to consider making a sequel, or even a remake on modern hardware. However, thanks to other top-shelf IPs making the lion's share of the developer's revenue, poor ol' Hopkins and friends have been swept under the rug time and time again.

Still, you should never say never. It's evident that there's a whole lot of hype surrounding the game, and it'd be a wasted opportunity if Rockstar was to abandon it altogether. So, until Rockstar finally manages to pull its head out of the clouds, fans will have to settle for the alternative. Could be worse though, right?

You can follow TeaserPlay for more concept trailers over on the official handle here. If, for whatever reason, an actual Bully remake comes about, we'll let you know.
