Laundry Simulator 2026 Review (PC)

Laundry Simulator 2026 Key Art

As it turns out, Laundry Simulator 2026 isn’t like Arcade Paradise. Heck, in that world you could turn a laundromat into a hidden arcade, complete with all of the eighties-inspired machines and ticket-eating toys that you could throw your money at. But in Laundry Simulator, there are no hidden hallways, and there are no digital heirlooms for you to sneak into the back office. Rather, you have a laundromat — and only a laundromat. Thankfully, you still have a lot of the same bits and pieces—the smooth and satisfying cleaning procedures, and the light maintenance jobs, for example. But to call Laundry Simulator a wolf in sheep’s clothing just wouldn’t be an accurate description of what it truly is. It is, in short, a game that openly wears its heart on its sleeve and its stains on its pants.

Of course, if you’re expecting a fantastical voyage into the inner boroughs of a Coraline-like laundromat—a cortex that pulls you into engrossing landscapes with enchanting creatures and monolithic structures—then you might want to lower your expectations just a little. Oh, Laundry Simulator isn’t the bold adventure that you want it to be; it’s a slow-burning chore core affair that essentially involves bundling clothes into washing machines, ironing out creases, and completing routine maintenance jobs to ensure that your business doesn’t collapse and leave you with an even bigger mess to mop up after the program whirls its final load. Don’t expect dreams of grandeur here, folks — Laundry Simulator is about as slow as it could possibly get.

Firstly, it’s best not to let a title as dull as Laundry Simulator fool you into believing that it’s a bad game. For the record, it is incredibly slow and monotonous. But it’s also a lot of fun, albeit not as much fun as a bulky role-playing game with deeply complex world-building elements. See, while the process of managing a laundromat sounds like a chore that you would soon rather give to your worst enemy than take into your own hands, the act of juggling the empire and making small but significant upgrades to the business can be awfully rewarding. There are pieces of equipment to unlock, greater tools to obtain, and a surprisingly large selection of avenues to venture into, some of which can boost your reputation and allow for more foot traffic, some of which can give you additional jobs and perks to further enhance your business model.

Like most chore core business sims on the market, Laundry Simulator 2026 begins with a bare-knuckle world—a carcass of a storefront that houses only the basics and the fundamental tools needed to find a foot on the ladder. Once you begin your career, you earn more cash, which in turn allows you to explore various upgrades and perks to further boost your productivity, such as an automated conveyor belt system that washes dirty clothes on your behalf, for example.

Between each milestone, you essentially have a rather straightforward job that requires all hands to be on deck, and all clothes to be bundled into a monotonous cycle that can, and often will leave you feeling bored out of your mind. But, again — Laundry Simulator; the devil is in the details. Sure enough, it’s a slow and oftentimes tedious experience that doesn’t require much more than sluggish legwork. You add fabric conditioner to washing machines, and then you dry the clothes before returning the bundle to a client. You earn cash, upgrade your reputation, and slowly add more parts to your ever-evolving mechanism.

Aside from the basic procedure of washing clothes, Laundry Simulator also includes a liminal selection of mini-games for you to complete. Maintenance, for example, requires you to fix broken components, scrub old grime from the pipes, and install better equipment to prevent your workflow from grinding to a complete halt. As you earn a passive income, you onboard more perks, but just as many problems and challenges. The cycle continues, and the rewards, however little they may be, begin to emerge from the backend of your business. That, in short, is what you can expect from Laundry Simulator: a rinse-and-repeat cleaning affair that doesn’t necessarily reinvent the wheel, but instead fills your head with the notion that brilliant things come to those who wait.

While there’s no denying the fact that there’s a niche market for the likes of Laundry Simulator and other chore-oriented experiences, there is still a lot to love about life in the slow lane, even if said lane is without the junctions and bridges of a multi-tiered world. Yes, it’s a little dull, but if you can enjoy it for the little things—the gratifying upgrades and incentivized labor—then you should be able to enjoy Laundry Simulator for the guilty pleasure that it is. Is it a great game? No — but it is one that you might just enjoy wringing out for three or four hours, nonetheless.

Verdict

Shelving units being stocked with laundry detergent

Laundry Simulator 2026 wrings out the juicy bits and pieces from a weighty four-piece tuxedo and simplifies the chore core experience with simple yet satisfying tasks and frequent upgradable components. It might not make for the most interesting business sim, or even a challenging one, for that matter. However, there’s an enjoyable incremental experience here that is likely to appeal to the target demographic. The point is, while it might not be a great game, much less a captivating one that has the potential to keep you repeating the same steps for the long term, it is one that can help you unwind between tougher endeavors.

If you’re looking for a short-term fix for remediating your boredom, then it’s likely that Laundry Simulator will give you enough to ponder whilst you actively search for another storefront to punch your card. It might not be the most exciting game you’ll put your hands on this year, but if you happen to enjoy short incremental games that foster lightweight interactive elements that don’t require much effort to solve, then you ought to consider rinsing this one out for an hour or two.
