Battlegrounds Mobile India returns

Krafton has released an official statement announcing the return of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI).

The game is coming back soon after the July 2022 ban by the government. The Indian authorities have welcomed the announcement, and Krafton India CEO Sean Hyunil Sohn expressed gratitude to the authorities for allowing the resumption of BGMI operations.

It’s worth noting that the return of BGMI is subject to a trial period of three months. The government will also analyze and supervise the battle royale game during the trial period. Additionally, the game will receive several adjustments, including a time limit and a change in blood color.

Battlegrounds Mobile India

Battlegrounds Mobile India, previously known as PUBG Mobile India, is an online multiplayer battle royale game developed and published by Krafton. It is the Indian version of PUBG Mobile with a design exclusive to players in India. The game’s initial release for Android devices was on July 2, 2021, and on August 18, 2021, for iOS devices. In July 2022, the Indian government ordered its removal from the Google Play store.

BGMI is an action-adventure game in which players are transported to an island full of opponents to survive. Players jump out of an airplane and land on the ground, traversing an area filled with opponents. The game has gained immense popularity, and as of August 2021, Battlegrounds Mobile India had already surpassed 50 million downloads. Before the ban in July 2022, the game had over 130 million downloads.

Krafton noted their aim to invest in the Indian gaming industry through collaboration with local developers. The company also added that it recognizes the importance of providing skills and employment opportunities to Indian talent. Although there is no confirmation of the exact date of its relaunch, BGMI will be accessible for download in India soon. The third-person action game will be available on iOS, Android, and iPadOS.
