This title hopes to bring all of the technical intricacies of one of the medium's finest power systems to life. This is a rather daunting task. Pulling this off with the same stylish polish attributed to the source material is even more challenging. This is mainly due to the power system within the Hunter x Hunter world, Nen being one of the most complex and well-thought-out of its kind. What is Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact?

As alluded to above, this game has the daunting task of creating one of the most beloved worlds in the history of anime/manga. Each of the characters within its world holds with them great weight. This makes portraying these characters accurately of utmost importance. For the uninitiated, the world of Hunter x Hunter is centered around people called Hunters. These people are tasked with not only eliminating threats to humans, but also hunting other Hunters in serve of their own purposes. The game appears to bring the classic 3v3 style of gameplay into the Hunter x Hunter universe.

This is sure to not only appease fans of the series but as we have seen with games such as MY HERO ULTRA RUMBLE as well as the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash, there is plenty of demand for titles such as these. The power system of Hunter x Hunter, however, in comparison to the others mentioned, has a great amount of nuance. It is not only the powers themselves that shape the world, but the people's personalities with those powers. This is seen in the fact that, in many ways, their powers reflect their personality types.

The game hopes to capture the essence of what makes the source material so great in a way that feels fresh and new. This is wonderful. It not only gives new players a chance to learn more about the universe in which the game takes place, but also there is a solid foundation for some stunning, yet tactical combat. All in all, this title is shaping up to be one of the most promising anime fighting games set to release sometime in the near future.

Story

While little is known about the story of Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact, what we can be sure of is the presence of some stellar characters. The character writing and personalities of these characters are some of the most memorable and endearing in the industry. This is no small feat either, as the competition between prominent anime fighting games is rather stiff. With the announcement of such juggernauts as DragonBall Sparking Zero, there is plenty of content to look forward to. There is very little information available about this title, as it just recently was announced. However, we will be sure to be on the lookout for any updates on the matter.

Gameplay

Now, to discuss something that we do have some tangible information on. Here, we will cover the gameplay of Hunter x Hunter: Nen Impact. The gameplay appears to be a fresh take on the 3v3 battle style. While at this current moment, we can't discern how this system will be implemented, there is plenty of potential to do something amazing. The technical proficiency of the world's characters gives players plenty of room for strategy. Players could even potentially use abilities in tandem in order to overwhelm their opponents.

Within the source material, there exists a vast array of powers to choose from. It will also be interesting to see how the roster of the game will be implemented and which characters will be chosen. There is a wealth of great characters to be found, so figuring out which characters will have the spotlight will no doubt be interesting. All around, this makes this title one of the most anticipated within the anime fighting game subgenre. If the developer behind this title's track record is to be upheld, then we are sure in for a treat. As we learn more about the game, there are sure to be a plethora of things to look forward to.

There have been many proposals and speculations surrounding the game's combat system. For example, many have speculated that the game will allow players to swap characters mid-battle. This will not only keep up with the fast-paced action but leave plenty of room for player expression. In contrast to this, many players have also been curious about a straight-up arena fighter with no swapping. This would feed into the more cerebral elements of the source material as well. No matter what the developers at Eighting choose to do, we look forward to seeing it.

Development

As for the development of this title, there is very little information available currently. What we do know is that this title is being developed by Eighting, which is a Japanese-based company behind games such as Pikmin 4 and DNF Duel. Both of these titles show a commitment to quality that is sure to be present in their next release. So, in short, the development behind this title appears just to be underway. That said, we are extremely excited to see where this title goes.

In our next section, we will discuss the game's trailer. The trailer for Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact is really brief. In it, however, we can glean some information. It would appear that the game is quite possibly taking a 3v3 arena fighter approach to its combat. What mechanics it will implement within this setup remains to be seen. That said, there is plenty of potential for the developers to make the gameplay feel fluid and unique. The core power system of the source material is incredibly malleable, leaving plenty of room for experimentation. To close, the trailer for this title is quite promising and leaves many fans wanting more.

As far as a release date for this title goes, there hasn't been one announced as of yet. Similiarly, the platforms this game will be on also haven't been announced. If the developer's history is any indication, however, a Nintendo Switch port is really likely. As far as editions of the game, this is something that also hasn't been announced.
