It's great news for RPG fans as we welcome a new epic addition to the open-world game category called Where Winds Meet. This is thanks to renowned developer Everstone Games, who facilitated the game's stunning reveal trailer at Gamescom. The trailer showcases in great detail the amazing adventure in store. Although it is not yet released, we can still conclude that this title is fit to compete with some of the best RPGs we have. These include the likes of Assassin's Creed and Ghost of Tsushima.

As per the reveal, the game appears packed with numerous exciting open-world activities to explore. Not to mention the numerous gorgeous Chinese locations that make this a title worth waiting for. Some of the takeaways we get from the trailer include gameplay elements such as hunting, horse riding, and radical combat. It features a skilled swordsman caught up in a rivalry between several powerful dynasties. As we await this incredible adventure, here are the five best games like Where Winds Meet that you should play.

5. Mortal Shell

Test your resilience in Mortal Shell, an action-packed RPG that takes you through a chaotic world in ruins. Here you face fierce opponents that require you to fight with stealth and precision. Therefore, you must commit to your weapons and make each swing count. The game lets you control various shell characters as you quest through the vast and dreary world.

In Mortal Shell, you face fierce resistance from the different creatures that guard your path as commanded by their devious gods. Still, the mission must go on as you need to track down more hidden followers of this cult-like faith. Although the game is described as souls like, it is actually a more cleaned-up version of Dark Souls designed for players who can't go darker than this.

The game follows a linear storyline which guides you toward various quests and exciting fights.

The choices you make through the various dialogue encounters on your journey affect the events and the progression of the game. You can also accept quests from NPCs, which can grant you various rewards upon completion. Similarly, you can take part in a number of minigames that Jade Empire provides that you can use to earn more items. 3. Assassin's Creed

Assassin's Creed Unity Cinematic Trailer

For a long time, Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed has dominated the action genre with its amazing graphics and aesthetics. The title is able to incorporate incredible game design and chaotic gameplay to form one of the most powerful productions. You play an assassin in a world that is on the verge of collapse due to a corrupt group known as The Third Crusade. As a feared warrior and ruthless agent, you try to take down all kinds of hostilities regardless of which side they are on. The actions you take throw the land into abrupt chaos, which only fuels more violence.

As an assassin, part of your responsibility is to master tactics, skills, and scheming techniques. You also have to master the weaponry of some of the deadliest warriors in the clan. The game offers realistic responses whereby you can interact with the environment during combat. This also applies to crowds who react to your actions and may assist or hinder you in your missions. However, this is a feature you can use to your advantage and make for even more exciting gameplay.
