Halloween: The Game — 10 Best Tips for Playing Michael
Michael is calculating. He’s ruthless. He gets pleasure from watching his victims run around like headless chickens before he strings them up to die. You don’t learn that kind of horrific skill overnight. You don’t wake up, and suddenly you’re the living nightmare of everyone else in Haddonfield, Illinois, still breathing.
How do you become good at being Michael Myers, you ask? Well, you follow our Halloween: The Game – best tips for playing Michael to a T.
10. Let’s Get That Bloodthirst to Level One First

If you can kill as many special targets as possible, and then kill more regular residents for good measure, and if you’re feeling extra ruthless, kill some player-controlled civilians as well, you’ll have won Halloween: The Game. So, the first order of business becomes finding the special targets, and the best way is to pull up the mini-map and search for the gold/yellow markers.
The only problem is that you have to get your Bloodthirst to Level One first to be able to see the markets. Not to worry, though, as all you’ll need to do is stalk people and kill them. Though I’d advise focusing on stalking because it’s easier at the start, and if you have to kill people, then go for the easier, low-priority ones.
9. How to Stalk

Right, but how do you stalk people exactly? It’s really as simple as going close enough to people and staring at them. To stare, you enter into the first-person perspective, and the meter will slowly build up. Hey, it’s something Michael likes to do, and it carries additional benefits as well. For instance, you’ll find it easier to kill people as they’ll be more frightened, easily stumble, and even have reduced speed. You can also find stalked targets more easily if they manage to get away.
8. The Mighty Shape Jump
Okay, so what tricks does Michael have up his sleeve? I think the most exciting one is the Shape Jump. It’s like wearing an invisibility cloak, but it also allows you to move through locked doors and windows. You essentially become a ghost that people can’t see, and can sneak up on civilians more easily.
One thing to note, though, is that you have to be in the shadows for Shape Jump to activate. And then, it’s party time, moving faster, and being able to see the silhouettes of potential victims.
7. Some Other Useful Skills
There are far more useful skills that Michael can use to his advantage, though they also come with cooldowns, which you have to strategically manage. My personal favorite is the Blackout special ability, which knocks out all the power sources within a certain radius around you. It’s particularly useful because it lets you spam Shape Jump. But you can explore other abilities like the Detection Pulse, which shows heatmaps of where residents are hiding.
6. Sabotage the Other Side

Sometimes, you might have to resort to manual ways of sabotaging the other side. But you’ll need to pick up hidden items, though, particularly ones that you can use to break power lines and radios. It’s generally the better solution than simply switching off the lights, and that will let you use Shape Jump for practically the rest of the match. Well, unless the civilians outsmart you and get repair kits to fix the power lines.
5. Watch Out for the Cops

Michael is powerful, indeed, but his strength and aggression only go so far. Against the cops, it’s a tough fight to win. To get ahead of the situation, though, you can run up to the places that the cops like to spawn, and deal with them as they come. Careful, though, as this strategy can quickly go from bad to worse.
4. Divide and Conquer

A similar strategy can be applied to the civilians. They will have a better chance of overwhelming you when they attack you in numbers. So, your best strategy is to deal with loners. Also, you might want to kill the NPCs first before dealing with the player-controlled civilians. They will likely be less shifty and easier to deal with, and will help you build your Bloodthirst meter for handling the stronger adversaries later on.
3. Kill Immediately

Halloween: The Game’s finishers are truly something, especially the ones that encourage you to use the environment. Essentially, once you grab someone, you drag them up to places like the toilet bowl and shove their head in, or slam their head on a cash register. You know, fun, gory ways to die. It’s definitely fun to execute and makes the matches exciting.
However, the time you spend dragging people to their execution is too precious. It’s enough time for them to break free, especially if they carry an item they can use to stun you or inflict damage. And since you’re generally slower, you may end up losing them altogether. So, how about just killing them immediately when you grab them?
2. Be Smart

The cat-and-mouse chase between Michael and the civilians relies heavily on strategy. You have to be smart about how you stalk people, the way you sneak up on them, and finish them off. You can just be running around, chasing everything that moves. Given your slower speed, it’ll make it very hard to win. So, make sure to use your abilities like Shape Jump to appear around corners when they least expect it or cut them off while they make a run for it. You can even be cheeky and close doors behind you to prevent them from escaping.
1. Block the Exit
Oh, yes. Blocking the exit is the tip I’d like to conclude the Halloween: The Game – best tips for beginners list. When you’re sure a civilian is in a house, and their only way out is through the front door, blocking the exit is a great way to ensure they don’t make it out alive. Alternatively, you can set up traps at the gates, cars, or cellars to prevent civilians from escaping.
