Caesars “$1.5 Million” VIP Tier
The story first appeared in the Vegas Business Journal, where it was announced that Caesars was rolling out a new VIP tier, and that to reach the number, customers would need to spend an estimated $1.5 million. The new tier, Olympus, is slated to be invite-only, and is offered exclusively to players who exceed 300,000 Tier Credits in the program. Right now, the Caesars Rewards program has 6 tiers, and the highest is Seven Stars®, which you can reach by accruing 150,000 Tier Credits. The rewards for the Seven Stars® status include:
- 15% off hotel stays
- $600 airfare credit to Las Vegas
- $1,200 annual retreat packages with a $600 dining folio
- Invitations to VIP events
- Guaranteed VIP hosts
- $500 Celebration Dinner at Caesars Rewards destinations
- 30% off Norwegian Cruise Lines with a Congratulatory Voyage
Olympus will add to those luxury VIP rewards with 40% faster Reward Credits earning (more on that in a bit), Suite Upgrades, and a 7-day annual retreat. They will also get a new loyalty card, made specially for Olympus account holders, which will be distributed on February 1, and a founders party will be held in March to celebrate the launch of the program.
How Caesars Rewards Work
Caesars Rewards, the VIP program was started in 2019, but originates from Total Gold (1997) a program made under Harrah’s. This loyalty program is similar to MGM Resorts’ one, in that it doesn’t just cover the 50+ US landbased casinos in Caesars’ portfolio, but it also extends to the Caesars online gambling verticals, affiliated stores, eateries, and virtually every service within the larger Caesars Entertainment ecosystem. Caesars Rewards follows a pretty simple comp-point and tier-progression structure.
You earn Tier Credits for your spending at the online casino, landbased casino games, shops, restaurants, hotels, etc, and as you collect more, you can ascend the status tiers. It is a bit like XP points that you can collect to climb some kind of ladder or progress in a game. Then, there are the Reward Credits, which are comp points that you collect and can redeem for free play, discounts, and vouchers at any of the Caesars affiliated services or facilities (again: shops, hotels, restaurants, spas, shows/concerts, etc).
But let’s quickly answer the question, can you only reach the Caesars Olympus VIP tier by spending $1.5+ million?
No, you can earn it by spending as “little” as $300,000.
Tier Credits can be earned at all of the Caesars affiliated services, from online casino gaming to booking hotels, and the rates vary drastically. Here is a run through of the Tier Credit earning rates by activity:
- Slot machines: 1 TC for $5 spent (where the $1.5 million claims come from)
- Video poker and bingo: 1 TC for $10 spent
- Table games: Varies depending on session length, types of games, and your average bet size. 1 TC for $25 spent at online table games
- Horse racing betting and live keno: 1 TC for $3 spent
- Sports betting: 10 TC for $100 spent on straight bets; 30 TC for $100 spent on parlays; 50 TC for $100 spent on SGPs
- Amenities (shopping, dining, hotel, other experiences): 1 TC for $1 spent
You also get boosts for reaching certain milestones in a single day, and Caesars claims you can even reach Diamond Status in a single day if you earn 5,000 Tier Credits in one day. So no, you can reach the 300,000 TC required for Olympus status for a lot cheaper than $1.5 million (whether you actually then get invited is up to the operator).
A Trend of Expanding VIP Programs
Loyalty programs are quite intriguing territory, they are potential engagement tools for operators, but can also cause grievances to gambling authorities and responsible gambling organizations. So much so that in the UK the regulations on bonuses and inducements have practically disarmed loyalty programs. In the US, the state of Massachusetts is still leading a comprehensive review into loyalty programs, with the intention to find out just how they work and then potentially introduce legislation to restrict these. The proposals include raising the VIP age to 25, making mandatory affordability checks ahead of granting VIP status, and cracking down on aggressive VIP inducements to players who have lost money or are on losing streaks.
Though as of yet, there have been no major changes in legislation in relation to these gamified bonus-packed ecosystems. In fact, some of the top gambling companies across the US have recently updated and expanded their VIP programs.
DraftKings Crown Cash and Omnichannel Rewards
On August 12, DraftKings announced the rollout of a new loyalty experience. It has introduced a new currency, Crown Cash, that is available across all of DraftKings’ verticals: DraftKings casino, fantasy sports, sportsbook, Golden Nugget online gaming, and – in the near future – they will bring it to DraftKings’ prediction market, DraftKings Predictions.
It is designed to tie in with the DraftKings Super App strategy, of creating one app to combine all the DraftKings verticals into one single app. With greater flexibility and interconnected bonuses, this new loyalty program is designed to branch verticals to make it easier for players to seamlessly toggle from one to the other. All while picking up universal rewards.
MGM Adding Perks to Existing Structure
MGM added perks to its loyalty program back in 2025, expanding on the non-gambling offerings. The new tier benefits included more cruise ship offerings, more hotel partnerships, and versatile new eGift Cards which could be used across all MGM destinations. But, and more cleverly, MGM’s changes mostly involved tweaking the structure of the program.
It used to have the same tier credit and status mechanisms and Caesars has. That is, you collect tier credits in a calendar year and on that basis your VIP status is determined. At Caesars, your Tier Score resets to zero every year on January 1. But MGM now has a Tier Credit rollover system in their new “Milestone Rewards” structure. Meaning a portion of your credits do carry over to ensure you don’t start from scratch. And furthermore, they introduced more milestone rewards within the tier credit system, so you get more perks between levels and not just when you reach a new tier status.

Is Caesars Planning Ahead?
Loyalty programs are becoming an increasingly important part of the final product for gambling companies, especially when the companies have big Vegas Strip casino portfolios, multiple online gambling verticals, and lots of retail partnerships. And on that subject, it is impossible to ignore the timing of Caesars’ new ultra high-roller VIP tier. They have been in takeover talks for nearly all of 2026. Fertitta Entertainment first showed interest in Caesars back in February-March time, and they submitted a bid to acquire Caesars for around $17.6 billion. Last month, the takeover bid was approved by the Nevada Board, and while there were brief hints at a takeover fight with Carl Icahn, it seems Fertitta is now on track to get Caesars.
If they do, it can lead to a wide range of future opportunities for Caesars. The most ambitious scenarios could see Caesars somehow linking forces with Tilman Fertitta’s other major companies, Golden Nugget, the Landry’s chain, and the NBA’s Houston Rockets. Loyalty programs, as you can see in DraftKings and MGM’s cases, can be strong tools for connecting different gambling verticals, entertainment or service facilities, and who knows – possibly even exclusive sports franchise merch or rights. The point is, this may be much more than a simple extension to a loyalty program, and it will be interesting to see what Caesars does next.
