007 First Light Sets 18 martie 2027 Nintendo Switch 2 Release Date

IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios confirmed on 14 octombrie 2026 that 007 First Light will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on 18 martie 2027, with pre-orders for the new version open. The announcement came with a new gameplay trailer presenting the game’s re-imagined Bond origin story as it runs on Nintendo’s hardware.
Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 version are open on the Nintendo Store, on Amazon.com, and at selected retailers.
The confirmed date follows IO Interactive’s earlier announcement of additional development time for the Switch 2 version, which the studio said was needed “to ensure the quality of experience players expect.” Since then, IO Interactive has brought hands-on builds of 007 First Light to both gamescom and Tokyo Game Show, giving players and press their first hands-on time with the game on Nintendo’s hardware. IO Interactive said player response from both events has been positive and reflects the progress being made across the game as development continues toward launch. The studio said the team will spend the months before launch continuing to refine optimisation and performance on Switch 2 so the game meets the standard players expect.
Switch 2 Editions and Pre-Order Incentives
The 007 First Light Deluxe Edition is available for pre-order on Nintendo Switch 2 for $69.99, €69.99, or £69.99 (SRP). It includes early access to the GoldenEye Suit at launch, four Gleaming gadgets (the Lighter, Earphones, Dart Gun, and Pen), and four outfits: the Day of the Dead, the Desert Explorer, the Silent Anchor, and the Gentleman Operator.
A separate 007 First Light Special Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 is available exclusively via Amazon.com and includes the Classic Tuxedo.
Earlier Switch 2 Timing and Sales Milestone
007 First Light is already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon.com, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, in Standard, Deluxe, Collector’s, and Legacy Editions. IO Interactive reported on 20 august 2026 that the game had reached 4 million units sold within its first three months of release, a total the studio said ranks among 2026’s fastest-selling games. In that same August announcement, the studio said a Nintendo Switch 2 version would follow later in summer 2026.
007 First Light is a narrative action-adventure game developed and published by IO Interactive. It casts James Bond as a young recruit in MI6’s training program and presents an origin story for the character. The game’s official hub lists Bond’s gadget set, including the Q-Watch, a phone, earphones, a lighter, and a pen, and locations spanning Iceland, Malta, London, Slovakia, Mauritania, Vietnam, and Antarctica. The game is rated Teen by the ESRB, with content descriptors for violence, blood, suggestive themes, and language, and it includes in-game purchases.
Year One Content and Post-Launch Updates
The August roadmap describes regular Tactical Simulation updates with new challenges set in locations including Kensington’s Workshop, Slovakia’s mountain slopes, Mauritania’s black market, and The Pearl, a luxury resort in Vietnam. It also outlines a storyline in which players uncover new intelligence about Webb Industries and investigate a piece of technology the studio said could turn into one of Bond’s deadliest opponents. A later mission, following the events in Mauritania, centers on an alliance between MI6 and Pirate King Bawma that draws Bond into a sensitive assignment.
IO Interactive said the Year One TacSim updates will add gadget upgrades, new weapons, leaderboard challenges, cosmetics, and additional gameplay scenarios, and that New Game+ was also being explored to improve campaign replayability.
Post-launch support documented on the game’s hub includes the free Extended Operations DLC, which is out now, and the most recent game update, version 1.3.1, dated 7 octombrie 2026. Earlier updates have added New Game+, a photo mode, and path tracing to the game.
